Broken Islands Lodge

Fantastic experience that was only possible because of the exceptional staff that were both equal parts friendly and knowledgeable. Shannah (spelling???) was awesome, and helped a couple of pure kayaking novices A TON. Everybody else, including the lodge owners and water taxi captains, were incredibly welcoming and it felt like they would accommodate us at every turn. All I can say is...I CANT WAIT TO BE BACK!!!

We didn’t stay at the lodge but rented a double kayak and ordered the water taxi service to and from Broken Island Lodge. The taxi was delayed by about 40 minutes upon arrival as we were waiting for a lodge worker delivering groceries. We were happy to wait as the captain was super friendly and nice and the setting was beautiful. We arrived at the lodge, our boat was ready and in excellent shape. We had 4 glorious days out in the BGI - it was amazing. We paddled into the most beautiful sunrise as we made our way back to the lodge for the 9:15 taxi. As we arrived at the lodge there was a bear on the shore - I thought the universe had conspired to give me a fabulous end to this amazing trip as a bear was the last thing on my list to see. I was yanked from my blissful reverie by a voice sternly saying get out of your kayak and get your bags as quickly as possible as we are in a rush. My first thought was oh my, did I get the times wrong as I thought we were early. No, we were exactly 23 minutes early.Chaos quickly ensued as we rushed to get our bags out of the kayak and onto the boat - it was a blur after being in a happy blissful state. I never did get a picture or watch that bear and didn’t see another one. It was a terrible way to end a fantastic trip. If they wanted to leave early they could asked and we would have happily gotten to the lodge earlier. The funniest part of the story is that one of the people who were rushing us was also the person that we happily waited for at the beginning of our trip. Otherwise the experience was great.

We had the most amazing time! The staff were so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and they went out of their way to ensure we have a fun and comfortable stay. The food is phenomenal and they were very accomodating to my dietary and allergy needs. Lots of fun activities during the day and at night. We rented kayaks which was super easy and quick. Paddling the broken islands is an experience of a life time. Thank you all so much for making our trip incredible!

what a wonderful holiday! I was the only non-kayaker of our group of 6...but I had a wonderful time beachcombing, reading, relaxing, walking in the woods...as an artist I found the whole experience very inspiring! The staff and family are absolutely wonderful, the food is great and the new renovations where a great surprise. They even provided 2 cats to make us feel at home! Kudos to the Broken Islands Lodge, miss them already!

Our stay at the Broken Islands Lodge was amazing. This place is so wonderful and has so many lovley spots to relax. Especially the hot tub and the view is incredible. The stuff/crew was very friendly and food was phenomenal. Also the kayaking is super nice here! We hope to come back one day!
