“Pretty nice spot, camp sites are meh and pretty close together. They have no portable water which would have been good to know as I was on a motorcycle and can only carry so much. I was expecting g to fill my water when I got there. Luckily I had the technology to filter water so I pulled from a nearby stream. Staff was really friendly and helpful, especially the front desk girl. Owned by the local First Nation, so I was happy to support the business. Still pretty rough, but the place has a lot of potential.”

“Bamfield Lodge has wonderful accommodations in the most beautiful place. The lodge is newly updated with the features you could ask for in a quaint fishing town. Loved the extra touches such as spices, bbq and outdoor table and chairs. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I have slept on. Dock and fish cleaning areas were spotless and loved the seating. They packaged our fish exactly as we wanted. Any questions we had were promptly answered. I look forward to coming back again soon.”

“Though we did not stay here it seems to be a nice hotel along the Bamfield Inlet. It has a beautiful outdoor setting with beautiful cottages and surroundings. The Waterfront Boardwalk runs from the Coast Guard building and ends at the entrance of Mills Landing. We were here in August 2019 and walked along the Inlet quite often.”

“Had a great time for my first-ever stay at Harbourside Lodge. The location's stunning and the staff are like a big family; really welcoming and friendly. “Let me begin by stating that I don't provide many reviews, unless the experience was horrible, or amazing- and this was definitely the latter. On October 14, 2023, my husband and I were married and hosted our reception at the Sproat Lake Landing Resort. We hosted 30 people, and it was nothing short of a terrific experience. We worked closely with the Manager, Sam, who assisted us greatly with bringing everything together. His vast experience and knowledge in event planning, combined with his easygoing attitude made what can be a stressful undertaking, effortless and enjoyable. The restaurant was perfect for our small wedding, our guests loved being able to enjoy the deck overlooking the lake throughout the evening. The food can often make or break a wedding, and the food was excellent (the lobster mac n' cheese side was loved by all). Everything was perfectly cooked, and the right temperature (cold and hot). We cannot say enough good things about the Staff at the resort. Sooo very friendly and they were completely focused on providing a memorable experience - and it was. April and Amber especially made the night fun for us and our guests. Many of our guests stayed at the resort, as did we, and the rooms were very clean, well designed, comfortable, and the views are spectacular. It was very convenient for our guests to stay at the resort. We have received feedback from our guests, and not a single person had anything but high praise for the entire experience. Many spoke of the possibility of hosting their future special events at the resort. We would not hesitate to host another event here!”

“Absolutely incredible! Stunning views, warm hospitality, great food, comfortable accommodation. Super fun listening (and even singing along!) to some acoustic guitar tunes around the campfire. Amazing kayaking. Spotted whales, sea lions, black bears, golden eagles…completely unbelievable location for spotting great wildlife. Loved soaking in the hot tub while looking out over the ocean at the end of the day. We were a bit nervous as we’d heard great things about the Lodge but also heard that there were new owners…everything about our experience indicates that it’s the same great place our friends came to know and love, with new energy. We will be back!”

“We had a wonderful time at this lodge. Cheryl and Brian and Mel and all the staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. We were picked up at the dock and us and our luggage were taken to the lodge. The next day we had a tour booked with the Kiixin first nations across the bay and Cheryl took us across in her little boat. One of us was 89 and getting around Bamfield was difficult for her to go up and down the steep hills but the staff at McKay bay drove us to wherever we needed to go. The meals were amazing!!! breakfast lunch and dinner were all fantastic and it was great to have lots of drinks and home baked cookies and snacks available to all guests throughout the day. Our room was spacious and comfortable and the beds very comfortable. The view from the deck is great.”

“Clean lake water and a very good lake for children to play. The parking lot is also wide. There are rock wool sculptures, so I hope you find them as well. The best place for swimming and paddling. It's about 2 hours and 40 minutes from Victoria, so it's a pity that I can't go often.”

“We came from the West Coast trail and got a taxi to the motel. Very friendly staff and the room was cozy and very tidy. A luxury after being soaked and cold for a week straight. We did our laundry, cleaned our gear, and cooked some food for ourselves in the kitchenette. A hot shower and a clean comfortable bed was greatly appreciated!”

“A beautiful, central spot on the main boardwalk. Next to amenities and perfect for people watching. Great fishing, with a perfectly located dock cleaning stn. “What a serene place in the woods! A lovely property, including a little lake on which shores you can sit and just enjoy the gorgeous nature view. A super friendly owner who gave us wonderful tips on what to see. The room, more like a small apartment, was very comfortable, clean and everything you need was provided for. Breakfast was always waiting in the fridge and coffee and tea were also provided. I especially enjoying watching the hummingbirds flying in and out to their feeders. Amazing!”

“We spent two days at this lodge and we were not fishing but we had a wonderful time. The lodge is gorgeous with a bright spacious dining room and ocean side patio. There are two hot tubs and we really enjoyed soaking in them for hours looking at the ocean and view. Our room was clean and spacious and the beds were very comfy. Ashley, David , Davin, Bob and Michael all went out of their way to make us comfortable and were able to shuttle us to Brady beach, to the boardwalk and to the dock on many occasions which was really appreciated. The meals were fantastic David is an excellent chef.”

“I was here for a Women’s retreat and this place is nothing short of amazing. I had been told about West Coast River Lodge and how beautiful it was but being here is a whole new appreciation for how accommodating it is for a large group. There was 25 women and we all had our own space to explore on our own as well as common rooms that we’d come together for workshops & team work The “cigar room” was by far my favourite closed in outdoor space with a real wood burning fireplace, accent lights, and cozy couches to relax and enjoy the sound of the river just steps away. (Where there’s salmon jumping often) The attention to detail is what truly makes this space incredibly special. The bedrooms, the bathrooms and each room had a warm feeling that leaves you wanting to return. The ample space on the deck accommodated all of us laying down for a sound bath under a full moon. I will 100% be coming back to West coast lodge for events. Marnie was extremely accommodating and answered all of our questions in prompt timing. Thank you so so much for the amazing time.”
