“Beautiful small park, quiet and not usually busy. Several open Garry Oak meadows full of wildflowers in Spring, plus trails through the woods in all directions. The trails are mostly easy, with a few moderately steep parts. Suitable for walking only; mostly not usable for those with mobility issues. There are a few slightly muddy spots in wet weather, but nothing impassable. Good for birds, bees, dragonflies, etc.”

Victoria Butterfly Gardens

Address: 1461 Benvenuto Ave, Brentwood Bay, BC V8M 1J5, Canada

Park

“We went there for tourist in your town it was busy but fun. The staff are friendly and efficient, I would even say well dressed and professional. The lobby and reception area is bright and spacious and they have some exhibits set up there to entertain the kids as you organize yourself and hang up your jackets. They have an awesome spot for that, a huge coat rack. After the reception area you head into the main area. It is really nice in there and there really is lots to see. It is one of those places that you have to take your time and look closely at to really appreciate. It has a jungle feel to it and is tropical and humid, it is like taking a quick trip down to the equator. There are parrots and flamingos as well as many different types of butterfly’s. There are also countless types of plants. The different water fountains and ponds are also quite interesting and make the atmosphere diverse. This is a most do annually for our family.”

The Butchart Gardens

“We went during winter to have tea. It was wonderful! They have a tier of savory hot dishes (the only place that offers this), a tier of unique finger sandwiches, and a tier of beautiful desserts. The flavour are robust and carefully thought out and they have a few items with salmon which are decadent. I did a lot of research before choosing The Butchart Gardens for tea as high tea was on our bucket list of things to do and I must say they did not disappoint. I even had sales people at stores in town highly recommend it. You won't be disappointed.”

Tod Inlet

“Beautiful and peaceful. Being away from the sound of traffic we got to hear the beautiful sounds of birds. Saw a seal and a sea otter jumped onto a little dock. While having something to eat, we watched an eagle fly in from one tree to another than it flew low a few feet above the water as it whipped past. An unforgettable experience!”
