Kelly the bar manager has turned this place around and is amazing in all respects. She’s right. I should have ordered German food - as opposed to American - and I will be back to review the “proper” food. But I will be back regardless because Kelly is amazing, supportive of local, and can fully engage with you despite being slammed with work. A true high class bar manager.
Nice spot.
I love a sit up bar with an
entertaining bartender.
Cosy booths and a couple of TVs
at the bar for sports.
Get here early cause it will fill up.
Prices are the same as any like minded places.
Nice washrooms
Easy parking.
Everything was great! Both of our meals were two of the best meals we have had in the Comox Valley for me, in 26 years and my husband in 20 years! This place is highly recommended.
Came in at 7:10 for dinner.
Ordered oyster mushroom calamari, striploin steak and fries, seafood tagliatelle.
The fried batter for both calamari and fries were over-fried than expected, otherwise I'm sure the mushroom calamari would've tasted excellent.
Server checked in 5 mins after entree, which was great since the Tagliatelle was much better with parm cheese and salt/pepper. We never got checked up to refill water until the end. Maybe they're understaffed, but the restaurant did not seem close to capacity. Staff were nice and friendly!
The food was excellent and the wine menu was top notch, with more French wines than the average restaurant, which I appreciated. The service was good but a tad slow as they seemed a bit understaffed though I’m sure that was likely a specific issue the night we were there. We showed up without a reservation and they accommodated us. The clientele was on the older side so it might be easier to get a table a bit later ;)
