“Lovely small cidery with tons of options to explore. We had a tasting flight and had an opportunity to wander around the grounds, which made the whole experience even more memorable. The staff was accommodating, answered any and all our questions, and clearly are passionate about what they do. And of course we loved the cider.”

“Small town feels with big town food.. I was surprised by some of the trendy items on the menu, I had the rare tuna and it was very good. Happen to be there for swing dancing night! So the entertainment was excellent:)”

“My wife and I had dinner here for our first wedding anniversary last night, and we couldn't of picked a better place. We both did the "Chefs Tasting" along with a wine pairing, and not only was everything exceptional, but the service was amazing, and very personable. I would highly recommend coming here to anyone!”

“If you like airplanes, and you like beer, this is the holy grail. Ace Brewing is a vibrant way to spend an afternoon / evening with friends and family. It's a really home-y feeling in the bar, as you walk up yourself to order a wide array of aviation inspired beers (my favourite part). The flights are served in classy propeller shaped tray, and the ones I tasted were very tasty (Kitty Hawk was my favourite). We also ordered the Nachos.... and you should too. Picked Veggies, pulled pork, and wicked steak sauce. Perfect comfort food for great beer. Thanks for having us! For more beer recommendations, check out @beerventureexplorers on instagram!”

“My husband and I love the food, although they are beginning to cut costs with cheaper versions of some of their original, homemade foods (i.e.: pre-packaged and processed foods rather than the real thing). The servers are pretty good unless it's really busy, then sometimes you can be missed/forgotten for a little longer than usual. The atmosphere is typical of an older bar/pub. I'm hoping that things will go back to being top-notch once their new building is done.”

“Went here for a family Christmas Eve, Eve Dinner. Everyone had only been one other time for lunch, so it was nice to experience dinner. Average prices, good food. Will go back.”

“The food was excellent and the wine menu was top notch, with more French wines than the average restaurant, which I appreciated. The service was good but a tad slow as they seemed a bit understaffed though I’m sure that was likely a specific issue the night we were there. We showed up without a reservation and they accommodated us. The clientele was on the older side so it might be easier to get a table a bit later ;)”

“6/20/23- pros and cons Warning: DO NOT ORDER THE VEGETARIAN ENCHILADAS. They don't know how to cook enchiladas. The tortillas had too much dough . The ingredients were tiny. Practical nothing. It was severed dry, no sauce or anything. Server said they were new to the menu. You've been warned! While the views are great and the service is very good (except for the front house manager at the hostess stand with brown hair, Barbara she's extremely rude). The blonde hair hostess is very nice and considerate. The halibut is huge and severed well. I've enclosed photos of both, but unfortunately I ate it before taking photos, and left what you see because there was really nothing left to eat or see. The halibut had 2 pieces. I might come back again, but please don't order anything that might be a foreign dish. It's terrible!!!!”

“The staff here seems to change fairly often but....they seem to find the best staff consistently ! No chips, lottery tickets, pop but great prices on your average beers wine and a limited selection of hard bar. Again, great staff”

“We came for the biodynamic and organic agricultural practices and stayed for the wine! We enjoyed our 30 minute tasting with Trevor so much that we left with a case of wine and a membership. We can't wait for our quarterly boxes of wine. The tasting was excellent quality with thoughtful food and wine pairings and plenty of educational information. Highly recommend 40 Knots for sustainable and quality wine in Comox Valley. Don't miss the interpretative trail.”

“Had the fresh oysters, truffle fries, and seafood chowder. Everything was amazing! The atmosphere of the pub was amazing, the staff was super friendly, and the view out the window was great, even on a cloudy day.”

“Just to come in and relax to listen to the bluesy background is good enough for me. And a frosty beer mug to boot. Lots of bikes outside, dont worry, they are a friendly crowd. Pub grub is good. A good old time pub, which are getting to be a dieing breed. Oh, they might have a rum or two (55) available.”

“Grabbed a meal and a cider while visiting Hornby and had a great time! The salmon and the burger were great. Potatoes and salad were so refreshing and light. My ideal meal. The blackberry cider was crisp and sweet and dry, maybe I’m a cider person now? Beautiful location and being there on a quiet day with our dog made for a relaxing afternoon in the sun.”
