“Kayak tour up the river with the company of sea lions and seals was very nice. The rental was a little different than what you might be used to (no office). When you turn right into the street it is the first trailer on the right (Glen) - it is a residential trailer, but Glen is very helpful. There may not always be all the equipment available (waterproof boxes, etc.) but the kayaks were good. It's best to take cash with you.”

“We had a wonderful 2 days of riding with Martin (Owner) and George (Guide) on day two. The first day was on Hornby Island which was a wonderful first day to soak in the scenery of the region. Martin is very knowledgeable of the area and has spend a several years building the trails on Hornby Island, as well as in Cumberland. The second day was in Cumberland with it's vast network of trails which was the highlight of our trip. It is an incredible mountain biking area with all levels of groomed and maintained trails to enjoy. Martin during this day was the "technical race route director" for the BC Mountain Race Series, so he had his equally experienced friend George guide us around and showcase this "spectacular" area. We had a rest stop along the way to cheer on the mountain bike racers, which was super fun to watch. Martin's full suspension rental bikes are awesome and are in fabulous top condition. We will be back again to ride with Martin's guiding company. Thank you, that was a first class experience.”

“AMAZING PROPOSAL IDEA with Glacier Paddle Board!! I had an idea on where and how I wanted to propose my girlfriend and wanted it to be super intimate and unique. I booked the Glacier Paddle Board trip with Island Expedition and it was probably the best decision. James helped me plan the entire experience/tour right from which airport I should be flying to, what flights I should be taking and made sure the plan works out with least surprises. He accommodated enough time so i could plan my trip back the same day. They worked with the Helicopter service and made sure everything was ready and in place for we arrived. We flew in the helicopter for about 30 mins and reached a remote glacier where it was just 4 of us(Me, my gf, pilot and James). He helped me plan how the surprise would flow and also worked out a small picnic for us. If you think this was it, here is a surprise: James is also a drone pilot and he was able to capture some amazing aerial shots for us with some videos too. On our way back we were lucky to spot a whale too. The professionalism for the experience and the fun we had was a off the charts. I never felt it was a formal tour and had to stick to a scripted flow. We had a great time and would def plan a trip with them. Island Life Expeditions was a savior and is a hidden gem. 10/10”

“We stayed at Unit 16 of the Beach House at Saratoga and it was absolute perfection! Sipping coffee on the huge sunny deck with unobstructed ocean views, finding natural treasures while watching salmon jump and eagles soar over the softest sandy beach on Vancouver Island, making incredible meals in the chef’s kitchen, walking a few minutes down the road to a great ice cream shop and more … we will definitely be back!! We comfortably fit two families (sofa bed is the best we’ve ever felt!) and feel like this is a fantastic year-round destination. Thank you so much to our amazing hosts!!”

“Strong communication and a fun getaway at Mt. Washington. Karla was very good about promptly replying and fixing any issues. She was able to help us out with early check in and later check out once it was confirmed that no one had booked the dates around us. We stayed in Chateau Cona, the whole unit. It was great for accommodating multiple families with kids and adults. Loved the hot tubs and having two kitchens. Would recommend to others and hope to visit again in the future.”

“The Comox Valley offers an enormous range of outdoor pursuits. Fishing, mountain biking, skiing and hiking. There are spectacular lakes, parks and historic caves (just south of Comox Valley is Horne Lake and Caves- co operated with the help of BC Parks. Napping is an option in some circumstances, but you may miss out. Cumberland offers world class mountain biking with eclectic independent restaurants, coffee shops and bicycle stores. Nanaimo is the last supercharger for northbound Tesla owners, but the Buckley Bay rest stop and charging station is being massively upgraded (supercharged you could almost say). The Tourism Information Centre at the turnoff to Courtenay/Comox has a single car charger with enough amperage to charge a cell phone. If you are going to spend 10 hours filling an EV here, you can at least stare at the decommissioned Snow Birds jet. Vancouver Island is the home of Broken Home Honey. This growing bee keeping coop is sweetening the pallet of Islanders while focussing on sustainable growth and consensual pollination.”

“Ross and Nancy were cordial hosts with excellent suggestions for what to do and where to eat. Nancy's delicious and generous breakfasts left us satisfied until supper. Our accommodations were excellent. If anything, extravagant for just two of us (not that we are complaining). The B&B unit would be ideal for a family of four to six. Cooking facilities in the unit were good. Royston House borders a pleasant walking trail along the shore of Comox Bay. We rode our bikes along the pathway into Courtenay and enjoyed it very much. Royston House is located just south of Courtenay away from from the hustle and bustle yet close to dining options and the action.”
