BIKE eRACK

The concept and build of bike Erack racks are simply outstanding. We use an SUV for bike trips, and with my previous rack it was always a two person job to open the rear tailgate when loaded with bikes. One person pulls the pin, while the other carefully lowers down 120+ lbs of regular enduro bikes and rack. Then obviously to get going again, one person needs to lift up the 120+ lbs of bike and rack, and hold it while the other person inserts the pin. It was always a pain, especially on any serious incline – forget it.

With bike Erack my 8 year old can now by herself, lower the rack down to load her own bike, or lower a full rack of bikes to get something out of the back of the SUV, then close the tailgate and put back up the loaded rack into driving position. Last summer we did 4800 kms driving on a family road trip from North Vancouver through the Rockies for mountain biking and into Saskatchewan to visit friends 4 bikes and zero issues. Bikes can be securely locked to the rack, rack securely locked to the trailer hitch. We were in and out of the back of the SUV a lot, and left the rack loaded up bikes totally unattended a lot. I added a motion detector alarm I got off of Amazon to the rack, which could be basically hidden on the rack for additional security. Bike Erack really helped make that trip so convenient.

The racks are beautiful. Anodized colours, generous spacing so bikes cannot collide when hitting big bumps or dips in the road. I’ve had mine for a 1.5 years now and would not want to do SUV bike trips any other way. Guillaume and Claudie are first class customer service, as an early adopter with one of the earliest production racks #003, they kept me current with a couple upgrades from their learnings along the way plus we added their new license plate holder – which I’ve seen in the news that people with license plates obscured by bike racks are now being ticketed for.

If you carry bikes a lot using an SUV or van, if your have a young family and are tired of loading your kids bikes, if you have shoulder problems, or just heavy bikes Erack is definitely worth the investment. Erack can carry road bikes too!
