“The main temple is not open now due to covid. That was disappointting but the rest of the gardens are still nice to see. You may leave offerings of fruit, flowers and cash donations. There are cute cheesy plastic deer statues. Each deer has a label on its back asking you not to ride on the deer in English and Chinese. It made me laugh. You'd think that would be a given but....some people lol I'm not a Buddhist but I enjoyed the experience and as with most religious places, there is a sense of calm. The section with the dark statues is worth a visit. The expression on the faces is unique and funny. I'd recommend popping in and having a visit. This place is an experience. Cheer”

“I have attended their winery tour and had wine tasting. Staff was very nice and detail oriented. I could learned a lot about wines. They mostly use Okanagan grapes, and I could taste red ice-wine which is very rare. White, red, fruit and ice wines, they were all tasty. I definitely go back there in summer time to see their grape field!! Must visit if you love wine!!”

“Dear Readers The members of the Steveston Buddhist Temple visited the Thrangu Temple on Sunday, Feb. 26. We had the opportunity of listening to the chanting conducted by the four monks, headed by the Rinpoche. Those familiar with the chant listened intently while some chanted along. It was an experience. We missed the prostration prior to the chanting. Those wishing to observe the rituals of another school of Buddhism are highly recommended to attend. The shrine, including the statue of the large Buddha, is very colorful. In fact were told that the shrine and statue were painted by their followers. A monk was very forthcoming in explaining the main features of Tibetan Buddhist, branch of Maha Yana Buddhism. Gratefully, Roy”

“Knowledgeable staff and entertaining. We used a Groupon. Only reason for 4 stars is because I felt the discounts were inflated. Starting at one price point and making it seem like a steal. Prices were good nonetheless. Berry wine, which some may shy away from, assuming it's too sweet. Not the case. Loved the amounts of selection. Really loved the showcase of BC fruit varieties. Makes me realize what BC really has to offer agriculturally. Worth a try.”
