“Such a hidden gem to find while biking around the island. The laid back Beach vibes made us feel like we were in the tropics. The cocktails were excellent and the wood fired pizza was outstanding. We were so pleased to have made the decision to stop when we rode by.”

“My wife and I came here to watch the sunset and have dinner. What an amazing spot and view. Is the food a little pricy? Yes, but if you factor in the atmosphere, it is completely worth the extra few dollars for that view - especially at sunset. I read a hilarious review on here before coming about the fries being soggy, and I can tell you that they were perfect (see photo). My crispy chicken burger was also delightful. Nice soft bunch, good flavour, nice and moist. Is it the best fried sandwich I’ve ever had? No - but it was exactly what it needed to be. My wife got the fried fish sandwich which was also very nice. My problem with this restaurant has to do with the drinks. First of all, damn are they expensive - second of all they are god awful. I wouldn’t pay 1/3 of the price for what I got. There was supposed to be tequila in both of the drinks I got, and I know for damn sure there wasn’t. I told the waitress but she assured me that there was tequila. But I couldn’t taste it at all - and I have a very good pallet. So I definitely felt jipped and lied to. The pina colada had large chunks of ice, I had asked for it to be made with tequila instead of rum, and again could not taste the tequila at all. There was nothing pleasant about any of the drinks I got. So my advice would be to go watch a beautiful sunset here, have a nice dinner and stick with water. Do not get a mixed drink.”

“My husband and I were visiting from Victoria where our favorite food is Indian. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We shared the coconut veggie curry, butter chicken and pakoras. The portions were good. We even had leftovers. The food was delicious. I also want to add that I was really impressed that the 1st question asked when I called in our order was if we had any food allergies. We don't but it is good to know that is something they consider important. Excellent value for money. Thank you!”

“We have been sporadically stopping in for beer over the last 10 years. The beer has always been great and its a pretty unique building. We were a little disappointed with the daycare vibe going on with the beer garden out back.”

“I was in Powell River for a month for work and didn't want to eat out every night. I swung by convenient chef to check out their offerings and was very impressed. Not only can you see where they make the food and their ingredients, they also change the menu you frequently. They also worked to help create something that would work with my dietary restrictions. I highly recommend !”

“I always enjoy dining here! It is quite the experience if you are looking for one! Such a cute and quaint place with their friendly and personable staff members (who know how to crack jokes at just the right time!) I always leave feeling full of amazing food and wanting to go back, just as I step down the stairs. Lol. Definitely recommend this place if you are looking for good food, a calm atmosphere, and/or just somewhere cozy to enjoy a coffee looking at the sea. Oh! And their IN-HOUSE-MADE Jam is literally to die for! So good! And when the berry season is good, they sell it to customers! How amazing! Honestly, it's just the best place I've been yet. I have never had to wait in line in the handful of times I've been so far (bound to increase as time goes on) and the tables are always clean, just like the floors and everything else. A well maintained joint. I never feel as if I've spent too much for my plate; the portions are darn big! And so freakin tasty!! Drooling just thinking about their dishes! If you haven't hit up Edie Rae's Cafe, then you have not yet experienced the whole power of Powell River ❤️🔥”

“Best pizza in town! Joyce and Gus have been welcoming the town and feeding guests for 50 years and really know how to make delicious food. Go. You won't be sorry!”

“Been told by a few people they have the best pizza in Powell River. My first pizza was solid. Tasty and traditional sauce that was well seasoned and neutral/mild in heat. Fresh toppings and overall a well balanced pizza. They charge a couple bucks more, but not unreasonable for the quality especially when the 2 for 1 discount works for your order. A single large pickup special would bring me back more often. I'll definitely be ordering again to explore their specialty pizzas. Thanks”

“The service here was so good! There appeared to be one person serving the full restaurant and they did amazing! Water was refilled before being empty. Took our order quickly and followed up during and after our meal to ensure everything was good. Now the food. The club sandwich was the best I've ever had! The side fries were perfect too! You can tell they stick to high quality ingredients and care when preparing. This is a must stop when visiting Powell River”

“We are visiting from Vancouver this weekend and heard this was the best pizza in town. It didn’t disappoint! The cheesy bread was the best first course, with the herb dip. All of the pizzas were delicious, and the spicy ones had a good kick to keep our spice-lovers happy!”

Highly recommend coming here-you wont regret It because everything is soo delicious, however, you will be too full! Great service! Dine inside or out, of get it t to go.”

“Wow! What a gem! We are passing through and this was our first time here. Our favourite restaurant in Powell River by far. Forest Bistro & Lounge was a fantastic dining experience. Food: - Glazed beet salad was perfectly balanced and seasoned. You know a salad this good is a great opener to a fantastic meal (sorry chef we did ask for goat cheese on the side) -The beef carpaccio was EXCELLENT. A heavenly aioli on warm bread, and what we think were fried capers. Um yes! - Calamari - yum! Perfectly fried with dipping sauce and red onion - Pasta of the day: Prawn, white cream sauce with spinach and sun dried tomatoes over pasta. Best pasta ever! It was heavenly! We were very impressed with great service in a busy restaurant. Owner and Chef John was eloquently doing it all and even serving us! Our plates came out each time just when we were ready for them. Music was excellent as well! We love a Dermot Kennedy cover. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the view! We felt the prices were very reasonable given the quality and experience. We will definitely be back.”

“Excellent service and superb food. Highly recommend. The waitress was kind. Great with the kids. Speaking of kids, they ordered chicken fingers and fries. Ironically for a Thai place, some of the best fries I have ever had. We also ordered the Thai Curry dish with shrimp with a side of rice for my wife and I, it was awesome.”

“Very much the definition of "pretty good". Takes a while to get your food, but the prices are comparable to other spots in town so if you're there and hungry go for it. Proprietor is friendly, and you can munch on some food while you take in the view of the beach, so it's worth a visit.”

“We stopped for a couple of Lattes, a Ranchero and a Wake and Bacon breakfast/brunch snack. The ladies behind the counter were super friendly and welcoming. The food and coffee were excellent! They even threw in a couple free cookies due to a small delay with one of the food orders. Also loved the original artwork on the walls. Thoroughly recommend Base Camp Coffee.”

“If you are in Powell River, GO HERE! The food is so fresh calling this place a pub doesn't do it justice. Fun cocktails menu, daily features, happy hour. Fantastic views from their patio. But best of all us the service. Staff here are incredible, we interacted with about 5 different staff, all outgoing kind fun warm welcoming. Special shout out to Anneli, we were coming from a LONG day of hikes and driving. She was an immediate energy burst, so accommodating and attentive, social without ever feeling obtrusive. She is the definition of a perfect server (/human). Thank you!”

“Came here for breakfast on the way to a paddle trip and loved it! He got the Ukrainian breakfast and I got the hash, great service (steller fashion on all staff members), solid coffee (love a free refill), really awesome vibe (could totally see someone playing live music in the corner and really dug the local artist support). Only feedback is that we’d love less (and more crispy) potatoes and more veggies in the hash and a special thank you for cutting up my bacon in the hash… it’s the little things ;) All in all, worth the drive; an exceptional diner in the middle of no where!”

“We arrived late in the evening, about an hour before closing. The restaurant was full with a table just finishing up. The servers quickly cleared the table and invited us to our table. We were asked what we'd like to drink and we ordered the tea, which was delivered very quickly and hot. We ordered our meals, after about 10 minutes the miso soup was delivered and about 5 minutes later our main course was served. The food was hot and fresh and delicious. The servers are very pleasant and we love our experience eating here. The atmosphere is pleasant with mostly private tables. Thank you!”

“Dragon House in the qathet Region is awesome. They just started doing bubble tea and I hope to see that area expand to a full tea menu because they're the first business in town to really get the pearls right. I love bubble tea and it's definitely been something this town is missing. The mango bubble tea has been my favourite (I'm not crazy about milk teas), but everything has been so good. Dragon House is the best Chinese food in town and I can't wait to see how the bubble tea takes off for them.”

“The service was friendly and the food was delicious. We stopped there for a light supper on our way to the ferry. We had the tongue tacos and our friend had the fish tacos; both were yummy. The Blue Agave and the other drinks were well prepared.”

“Went here a couple of times, and ordered for pick up. The food is dominos, but made really well. The guy at the cashier works incredibly hard, efficient and is kind. Both times It has been a pleasure to deal with his genuine character without being judged or treated only as cash flow. Great customer service goes a long way and makes you feel good about the businesses you support. Thanks again.”

“Beautiful coffee shop with a beautiful atmosphere. Service has always been prompt and friendly. Child-friendly atmosphere is always a win here! We love the option to sit outside on nice days in the spring and summer. The food is always excellent, the carrot-cake is heavenly, the energy balls are a must, and the coffee is great! Try the espresso milkshake if you're looking for a delicious cold pickmeup!! It's my go-to in the summer😎”
