Don't miss the second building, where a team built a replica of a full-size SPAD XIII. They clearly love to share the experience with visitors.”

“The Selfridge Military Air Museum which is supported by the Michigan Air Guard Historical Association is a true hidden aviation "gem" in SE Michigan. Reflecting Selfridge's proud 100 year history, the Museum has on display many of the aircraft types from all branches of the military which have flown from Selfridge which include a full-scale WWI "Spad" replica, a Cold War Navy sub chaser, the P-3 Orion" and the mighty C-130 "Hercules" transport both of which are open for tours, the F-16 "Viper" and A-10 "Warthog" which are flying in America's defense today. Many artifacts from that same period are carefully displayed in the Museum's main building. Maintained by a 100% volunteer staff, the Selfridge Military Air Museum should be a "must see" on your SE Michigan "road trip" itinerary”

“One of the finest hotels of the time, the Grand Pacific House, was constructed in 1881 for New Baltimore's Frederick C. Losh. It is the last remaining hotel of the era. The limestone for it's deep foundation was shipped to New Baltimore from Kelly's island in Lake Erie, near Sandusky, Ohio. Local bricklayers constructed the two-story building on Washington Street. The "modern" hotel featured a lobby, dining room, and Saloon on the first floor, with eight bedrooms on the second floor. Around 1910, when business began to decline, the Grand Pacific House became a boarding house and later, a private residence. During the 1920's the saloon was transformed into a soda fountain and candy store. In 1927, it was converted into a hardware store by Ed Maliskey, who ran the store until his passing in 1972. The New Baltimore Historical Society purchased the building in 1986 thanks to many fundraising efforts and generous donations. Ten years later, the Grand Pacific House received it's Michigan State Historic marker. The restoration process continues as the Grand Pacific House lives on.”

“The eighteen foot long model of the Titanic was awesome! Fine Art Models, was commissioned by Harland & Wolff in 1995 to build the builder's model of RMS Titanic. Harland & Wolff is the same company that built the real RMS Titanic ship. There had never been a builder's model of Titanic built and therefore no one ever knew what the ship really looked like. Fine Art Models was given access to the original plans, drawings and every photograph of Titanic known to exist. It took over 7 years to build the model. That's 4 years more than it took to build the real Titanic. This model is the most accurate model of Titanic ever built. It measures 18 feet long and offers an authentically detailed view of the Titanic as it was in 1912.”
