“After a few months of regular shopping my initial excitement has disipated. While staff is always friendly I have been repeatedly disappointed by poor quality and selection of produce. On multiple occasions the garlic and onions I have purchased have been soft and have ended up in my garbage instead of on my plate. While there is a good selection of long life produce such as potatoes, cabbage and onions, the selection of fresh vegetables is extremely limited. Meat selection is a mixed bag. Good sausages but I have been disappointed by the selection of beef. The steaks are less desirable cuts and are cut very thin. Pizza is poor quality but cold cuts are well priced. Freezers are not operating after months of waiting. Overall this is a good spot for staples and dry goods. Eggs and milk seem of good quality. Staff is always friendly. I will continue to shop here and support local but compared to the amazing store we had in Hillsborough 6 years ago this is a disappointment. Support local. Hopefully they will sort out their logistics over time and get better prices, selection, and quality with community support.”

And the price is stunningly low for the quality of frame, rims and components. My bike has been flawless and is always a blast to ride; it is so crazy light and nimble. “Best lobster I’ve ever tasted. So fresh so sweet yet salty, so good! This is what it means to eat local when the lobster is caught that morning and eaten the same day. We chose our lobster from a large lineup of available already boiled lobster being kept on ice. Given a bucket and a lobster cracker thingy, and we went outside to the picnic table with a roll of paper tow and went at it. It’s messy but that’s how it should be. We also purchased the garlic butter which enhanced the sweetness of the lobster meat. Such a good meal. So worth the effort and messiness of cracking open your own lobster and sucking in all the natural juices and seawater. Yum!! (It was so good, we tried to go again the next day, but unfortunately an overnight lightening storm took out the power in the area.)”

“This place is such a treat! My favourite product was the chaga powder. I have been adding a half teaspoon everyday to my metabolic smoothie and I have no idea if it is actually working but I read online it can take up to 5 months of consistency with taking this product to see major results. I truly feel it has really helped with the inflammation in my joints. The wild berry vinegar is delicious. I use it as a salad vinaigrette. Looking forward to coming back again.”

“We went looking for the book shop, but it was closed so we stopped into the craft shop located in the barn. We were sad to hear that the book shop wasn’t going to be open the day we were in town. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful. We were ultimately heading to the Hopewell Rocks and she gave us a map and marked off a bunch of off the beaten track points of interest to do on our way. We are very grateful for this. We had a wonderful time. We plan to go back and hope to stay at her B&B. The craft shop is filled with many beautiful pieces. We highly recommend stopping by and checking it out.”

The restaurant was understaffed resulting in a very busy waitress, no refills of water or coffee, and longer wait times. A table that was seated after us were served firsts and finally our meals were served in chipped bowls. Despite all this I plan to return...the food and atmosphere are great.”
