“Very cool but small park on the river that not many know about. Walking the trails gives you great views of the older days of Buffalo. Across the water is Concrete Central and there are two active railroad bridges very close by.”

“This is in my top 10 Kayak places. It is "urban kayaking". It's just really different. Less wildlife, more post-industrial waterfront. There's plenty of launches, but the Hamburg/Ohio Street park launch is a good start. No fee for launch or parking. Very busy, lots of kayaks. There's a bunch of rental places, too. Tall ships were here today. There's waterfront bars you could go to. Pretty cool. About two hours down to the lake and back. We finished up in the Old First Ward Brewing. Great day.”

“Gorgeous place for kayaking or swimming. They even have an amazing kayak launch from a dock which is incredible. The beach area for swimming is exceptionally rocky so wear swimming shoes for maximum comfort. (Our feet are used to the soft sand beaches in California). There is a restroom near the park entrance that is best for changing clothes (and babies) if you show up in your street clothes.”

“Kayak launch at Wilkenson Pointe in the outer harbor. Very easy to get to from the sky way. There are kayak rentals sponsored by Independent Health or you can bring your own. The floating launch allows you to launch two kayaks at once and easily push yourself in or pull yourself out of the water. You can explore the outer harbor and be sheltered by the break wall.”

“Connect with nature just south of Buffalo Harbor Lighthouse. Boardwalk among the trees and see groups of deer upclose. See birds you may not have seen before. Lots to explore. Info stations to educate along the way.”
