“My partner and I had the pleasure of staying at the Granvalley Inn just outside of Annapolis Royal, and it turned out to be an absolute gem. Initially hesitant about a small-scale inn run by two people, we were pleasantly surprised from the moment we arrived. The Inn exuded a warm and inviting atmosphere, and its French provincial charm and farm-fashioned beauty added to its allure. Kathy and Karl, the owners, were the epitome of hospitality and kindness, making our stay incredibly enjoyable and memorable. Our room was cozy yet modern, equipped with all the amenities one would expect from a larger-scale establishment. We had a restful night's sleep, preparing us for a delightful surprise the next morning - a classic breakfast featuring bacon, eggs, toast, orange juice, coffee, muffins, and coffee cake! The dining room, beautifully decorated, offered an expansive view of the surrounding farmland. Kathy joined us shortly after breakfast and graciously shared the history of the home and the area, making us feel like cherished guests. The overall experience at the Granvalley Inn was nothing short of incredible, completely dispelling any initial apprehension I may have had. It truly felt like a down-home, cozy, and friendly retreat, where comfort and relaxation were a priority. The Inn's location was perfect, just minutes away from the picturesque Annapolis Royal, hiking trails, and stunning views. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the nearby attractions and returning to the comforting ambiance of the Inn. If you're seeking a delightful escape in the valley with genuine hospitality, charming decor, and a comfortable experience, the Granvalley Inn should be your top choice. Kathy and Karl's dedication to making guests feel at home makes this bed and breakfast an exceptional destination worth cherishing.”

The back deck overlooks the beautiful Annapolis Basin where you can watch the world's highest tides. The little house has a bedroom and two other rooms with pull-out couches, a full kitchen, BBQ and laundry facilities. This place seems quite popular so book in advance! “7 girlfriends and I descended on this place last night after bicycling from Grand Pre, and Annapolis Royal did not disappoint! The house was very clean, very welcoming, and we were left to our own devices for the night. We explored every inch of this super cool house, and as per the hosts directions, knocked 3 times before going to the 3rd floor so that the otherworldly resident had time to hide before we went up 😉 The porch is a beautiful place to sit the evening away with a drink, and breakfast was great with coffee, tea, juice, eggs cooked to order, muffins, scones, and fruit salad. The owner is hilarious, very easy to talk to, and a bit of a jokester. We had many laughs and would definitely recommend this b&b to any traveler!!”

“The view was great and the beach wasn't busy when my niece and I camped there. Nice to have the beach a few steps a way and Sandy Bottom Lake is a great lake. When we were there their well had a boil order in place. When I took a shower and it smelled like bleach, it made me very itchy so stopped showering and just went swimming. The bathrooms need a reno and they only have one shower. They have two outhouses, one for men and one for women and the bathhouse with men's and women's lockers rooms. I didn't go into the men's locker room, but the women's has one larger bathroom (handicapped one) with a chair and a sink. The other is a water closet without a sink. There are two sinks in the locker area and a long bench. There is one shower. Getting it working was confusing at first because I originally thought the slots to pay was perhaps left over from a washer. The price is 25 seconds for 5 minutes. We ended up calling showers our $1 showers because we took 10 minute showers. The canteen was out of a lot of things because it was the end of the season, but they had good nachos and things like ice cream, frozen yogurt and popsicles. They had hot dogs too. They were put of ice but very kindly ordered some. The beach is small but is nice. There is a volley ball net and canoes, kayaks, and peddle boats that can be rented for a cheap price. They do not rent them out anymore after 5 pm. We had a great time in the kayaks but our favorite thing to do was swimming. There is a life guard on duty sometimes and a shallow end roped off. There isn't a lot to do there so it is good that is something we love to do. It is a good base to go to other places though. The campgrounds were clean, but keep in mind that the ground is soft and it can get windy so bring extra stakes if you are tenting. There are fire pits available and firewood is available at the canteen. The campsites are a great price and there are serviced sites (electricity and water) for only $27 and they have 2 bedroom cottages Jr. cottages available too. Another nice thing about Raven Haven is that free wifi is available so we could watch netflix at night. The staff were friendly too. While there were some negative things at Raven Haven, we had a great time. I would recommend this place.”

“Our 2nd time staying at the colonel cabin, it's a rustic cabin and has a nice, private property with a dock for swimming, canoeing or lounging, the lake channels into bigger lakes with hidden beaches that are fun to canoe. The house itself does a great deal on maritime dinner and breakfast if you stay the night.. My family and I are making a couple nights stay at Milford a new summer tradition. It's very family friendly with a public beach on the lake and other facilities.”
