“My friends just had a wedding here and the family that own it are so so amazing! Opened their home to us, made us feel like a part of the family. Legit bent over backwards to make sure we had everything we needed and more! The campground amazing, the washrooms are very clean and the campsites are real nice! The community fire pit is great and at night with the lights they have hanging..it just a pretty spot at night! I honestly could go and on! You have a event or just want to get away...this the place!”

“I have been at the Oak Island Marina for 6 years and have been very impressed the last couple of years! The food has been much better these last 2 years since the new chef has arrived. The marina manager, Marc, is always very helpful and easy to talk to. He is always able to figure out solutions to any issues which may arise. Oak Island Resort & Marina is lucky to have such a dedicated employee. Now the resort just needs to figure out how they are going to have another Autism centered weekend. They had one a couple of seasons ago, then they canceled their next Autism weekend without much communication or explanation to the families. The Autism weekend was amazing for my sister and she still talks about it to this day... the ball is now in your court to organize and schedule another weekend!”

“Clean and quiet, manager was very friendly and accommodating. The wifi was very weak to non existent, but I survived. Water pressure (lack of) was my only gripe. The pressure was so low, the tub spout knob kept tripping off. I would suggest the manager spend one or two days "living" in each room to get a better understanding of what works and what doesn't. Still, not a bad place and I would stay again.”

Close to many towns to explore along the Atlantic coast from Peggy's Cove to Lunenburg. Would definitely stay here again. We met the owner and he was great.”

“Suzy is the real deal in Inn's. It's a small place when you arrive, but so filled with homely warmth, from the check-in through to the breakfast around one big table (talk to your fellow travelers !). I stayed at the Winter room - it's big, clean and very good for a romantic get-away. The Mecklenburgh is in the middle of Chester - not a big village by any measure, but you have ten steps to the pub, restaurant, cafe and local marina. And there are of course plenty of Nova Scotia trips to take from Chester. I will definitely be back !”
