Tobermory Inn & Suites

Address: 122 Bay St, Tobermory, ON N0H 2R0, Canada

Lodging Point of interest Establishment

“Honestly there is a whole lot of complainers in this review section. Tobermory Inn & Suites was very upfront about the ongoing construction. It was not intrusive during my stay. They even sent an additional email after booking to make sure you were aware prior to arrival. The location is pretty nice and the balcony view of the water is great. The accommodations in the room are minimal. There is a AC wall unit, TV, microwave, and fridge (no freezer). Definitely a mildew smell in the bathrooms and the cleaning of the sink area could have been more thorough. Despite this, I honestly have no major complaints. Tobermory is a tourist town and this was one of the cheapest lodging options we could find. Don’t expect luxury if you aren’t paying luxury prices. Rent one of the $1000 per day houses on the water if you want to be a complainer.”

The Last Tern

Address: 133 Huron Dr, Tobermory, ON N0H 2R0, Canada

Point of interest Establishment

“We absolutely loved our stay at this place during the first week of September 2023. It was sparkling clean, well stocked with plates, glasses. utensils, towels etc. Being adjacent to the national park land was a huge bonus allowing us to walk along the shoreline to the south without any person in sight! We’ve been renting places in Tobermory for 15 years and The Last Tern Lake House ranks up there as one of our favourites. We’d definitely would like to return to this place!”

“I write this review with mixed feelings. There was only one person to run everything, he was very welcoming and accommodating. There was no hot water or electricity, I'm a low maintenance person, so overall I enjoyed my stay. Beautiful property, needs better maintenance. Seems like the new owners bought it with no real understanding of the wilderness.”

“My family of 4 rented kayaks for the day here (2 single and 1 double), and had a great experience all around. It's a small family-run business that provides great service, and the location is beautiful and perfect for getting away from the crowds at more popular destinations nearby. We had limited experience but had no problems navigating and exploring the entire lake, even on a moderately windy day. Part of its shoreline is on National Park land with lots of beautiful areas to stop and take a break, swim, or just relax. If we had more time & energy we would have followed the creek that connects to nearby Cypress Lake, a beautiful lake where we happened to be camping. If you're completely new and not quite so adventurous yet, you can rent for a shorter time and just paddle around the calmest waters close to the cottages. This experience was one of my family's favorites during an 8-day trip through southern Ontario, so I highly recommend!”

“Did the flowerpot island loop trail. It is actually about 5km. The west side of the loop was moderately challenging, roots and rocks. The east side of the loop was relatively easy. Both the big and small flowerpots were magnificent. The cave was pretty interesting.”

“Unfortunately, the museum was closed when I visited. Bummer, right? But you know what, just being there, right by the old light keeper’s quarters, I could still feel the history. I wandered around outside, imagining what life would've been like for those keeping watch over the waters of Georgian Bay”

“Serene and the best place for clear waters in Ontario. Enjoy the views of Lake Huron and take a nice swim during summers. I stayed in a yurt near cypress lake and enjoyed every bit of it. Though grizzly bears and rattle snakes were spotted, fortunately for me and my gang, we didn't :) I suggest always travel in groups but don't miss the fun”

Tamarack Campsites

Address: 469 Cyprus Lake Rd, Tobermory, ON N0H 2R0, Canada

Campground Lodging Park Point of interest Establishment

“Very close to Grotto at a walking distance. The campsite was very clean and close to Cyprus lake. The washrooms are very well maintained and cleaned up regularly. We hiked until the Grotto and spent the entire day swimming and watching around. The sunset was very beautiful and we were lucky to have clear skies for star gazing at night.”

Cyprus Lake Campground

Address: 469 Cyprus Lake Rd, Tobermory, ON N0H 2R0, Canada

Campground Lodging Park Point of interest Establishment

“The area in itself is beautiful. The lake water was very clear and blue, and the grotto was absolutely stunning!! The walk to the lake is super cute and they made sure to set up benches and restrooms for breaks on the way. As for the campground itself, don't expect privacy, not even remotely. This is not the place to go if you're after a quiet natural camping experience. The sites seemed way too close to each other, we could easily see and hear everyone's conversations and people were not shy about making loud noise until midnight. This place would be more suitable for large groups that are planning on staying up late and not mind other loud large groups next to them, or if you feel safer camping with a bunch of people around you. The site is set up quite nicely though, depending on your site. They got couple of picnic tables and a designated fireplace/grill. The fire wood was however disappointing, most of it was spongy and moist. Pros: - beautiful views and walks - clean and maintained area - convenient for people who want an easy camping experience -easily accessible sites Cons: - alot of fees (wood 13$/night, reservation fee, camping fee, park entry fee) - sites WAY too closely packed together - can't bring your own wood - not for people who want a peaceful quiet time or privacy. I felt like i was next to a bar most of the time, especially during "quiet hours". Would I come back again? No. Maybe just to go to the lake but not for a camping night.”

Birches Campsites- Bruce Peninsula National Park

Campground Lodging Park Point of interest Establishment

“Amazing campground, it's absolutely beautiful with a great view of the sunset. I go with my family every year and it's a blast every time. The lake is quite rocky so I strongly recommend bringing water shoes, however, my experience this year was great as always. The birches campsites are a closer walk to the Grotto than the Tamarack campsites, however the walk is fairly easy with some boardwalk areas. Overall I had an absolutely amazing time and will definitely be returning next year!”

Poplars Campsite

“We camped at poplar camp ground here at cypress lake. Office staff specially "Jodi" very friedly and not rushing. He was given us options available during the day and hacking trails difficulty levels etc. Hub/ experience center/ comfort station located Walking distance from the camp. Shower, toilet, shelter, wifi and play area with TT table available. They provide barcode for the entrance to the camp ground. Experience was positive.”

Halfway Log Dump Parking

“This is NOT the parking lot to see the grotto. We ended up hiking for 5.5 hrs out and back to the grotto and it was a different terrain to do within the alloted timeslot. The hike was beautiful and there were a few spots where we had access to turquoise water without any people around. The view points along the way were breathtaking. Do carry a lot of water with good hiking boots.”
