“This is a great motel for the price. It's a great location and close to stores as well as the beach. The bed is very comfortable, and my room had a/c as well. There's a pool for swimming as well in the back. The lady at the front desk was very welcoming and accommodating. I would stay here again the next time I go to South Hampton.”

“I have stayed here and also had dinner and drinks recently. Stayed here a year ago and had dinner and drinks last week. The rooms walls are paper thin, and I could hear the lady beside us snoring all night haha but the rooms are nice. The dinner was fantastic but the cocktail menu looks great but the staff are not trained to make them. I was talking with some family members and we had wondered why the staff just had no training to serve the drinks. This is why the review rating is low because the owners could do a better job at making sure the staff are educated on what they want to offer vs throwing mud against a wall and hoping it sticks. Thank you for your reply to my review, I guess your view of my rating is negative but I explained myself in detail to give YOU what I experienced, and to take that and do as you please, but hearing only open on weekends gives you 5 days to train your staff. No need to be negative to me, you’re a service so a fair review shouldn’t be considered toxic. People who read your reply would consider you to be upset/toxic for no reason. Online reviews are good for businesses to understand what customers experienced.”

“We had a great stay here in November, 2023. The home is beautiful and full of character. The home has been tastefully restored by the owners, Kim and Rich. Our room was comfortable, clean and spacious. Each guest room has an ensuite washroom which was handy. Kim and Rich are extremely nice folks who made us feel very welcome. They had some great recommendations for things to do in the area and the food they served us for breakfast was very good. The B&B is near to the downtown area - a short walk to the beach and many local restaurants and sites. Would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for something in the Port Elgin area!”

“My wife and myself stayed here last night after a spur of the moment decision to get away for the night. We arrived around 630 and when we pulled up I truly had my reservations about staying here, it looks like a dive, but after meeting the owner who is one of the nicest people we've ever had the pleasure of dealing with she made the check in process fast and stress free, we got to our room which had been recently renovated to find a nice but rock hard bed, CLEAN BEDDING, and a jacuzzi tub. The room was clean as can be and no signs of bugs. The hotel was quiet as a church mouse overnight and the check out process was as simple as dropping the keys in the mailbox. I would recommend for 107$ a night every time!”

We've stayed there for a weekend each summer for years and are sad to see Sue and Tony are retiring and selling. Hope to get back there again before it changes hands.”

“I have stayed here in multiple rooms and cottages over the years and I highly recommend it if you have tor chance to stay it’s the best b&b in town (tried them all) and have never found anything lacking. It has room for the whole family and feels just like home (if home was as elegant and well close to the beach). It has all the amenities and a few you didn’t realize you’d been missing out on! Don and Jenny are warm, helpful people who are a joy to stay with and Jenny’s breakfasts are not to be missed!! She was even able to accommodate my allergies and my grandfather’s diabetic diet :)”

“Overall, the Beach Haus is a fantastic cottage experience! Good inside space, A/C works well and the beds are super comfortable! Great cottage style vibes, good amenities and 50 steps to the beach. Jeff is fairly quick at responding and actually answers your questions. Very happy with his level of communication. Outside front space is good. It's not as private as the fenced in backyard area, however, the trees do a good enough job of sheltering the fire pit/hangout area equipped with 2 picnic benches. Lots of extra camping chairs on the porch, which were great for taking to the beach. BBQ also works and we used it every day. The property is a 2 minute walk to most of the restos and cafes, with Timmies and Circle K about a 10 min walk/2 min drive. Fairly good separation between Beach Haus and the other guests in the rear cabins! For me, the one major improvement would be to add a hand held shower head to the upstairs jacuzzi tub. When hosting 9 people for a week, it would have been that much better to have a 2nd shower. The couch/futons could also be more comfortable if I'm being picky. Neither of the above are deal breaker by any means! I would definitely book this cottage again as is!”
