I managed the Crests Of Kennisis Trailhead today from Hawk Lake Log Chute but coming back down was a challenge. The rock face is very wet and a lot of mud involved. Slippery areas and could be very dangerous for some. Once up to the top some nice views. I'm surprised it's not closed off or warnings but all I seen was warning signs stating it's hunting season and to wear bright colors. Well I wished I had seen this notice before I started up. But overall very nice area.
This is a pretty good hike. Starting from a rebuilt historical log chute, there is a bit of a scramble to get up to the crests. I was there in mid August and I think that in the fall, the views will be amazing.
This one is a work out. A lot of vertical climb. Totally worth it if you are up for it
Great trail and great hike! Lots of up and down with some great outlook points!
The Crests of Kennisis Trail is an about 3KM in each direction trail running along the ridge line. The trail starts off very challenging with a steep climb up some wet rocks but moderates after that. It's still a challenging hike, not recommended for beginners. Hiking the trail rewards you with great views of the surrounding rolling hills as well as hidden ponds and streams among the forest. A great way to spend an afternoon.
