“Water access trail leading to the Bear mountain lookout point. Beautiful scenic trail for moderate hiking activity. Limited boat parking by trying off to a tree on the shoreline. Crown land, please be respectful of hikers, boaters and the environment. Although the trail never officially closes, hiking in winter or after dark is not advised. No washrooms”

“I highly recommend this campground! They offer gas, food, and essential camping supplies. The staff there are very friendly and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. And given that the park recently changed owners, the staff there have been absolutely amazing about the changeover. I also look forward to renting one of the beautiful tiny homes they recently added to the park. If you are in the area you should definitely check it out as it is one of the hidden gems in the Harcourt area”

“We try to do this trail every year, a real gem of the park! We stick to the traditional route entering through the entrance, although we notice many people enter through the exit as it’s an easier climb to the peak with a wood staircase to aid the ascent. It took us 1h 35min to complete the trail this year walking quickly and stopping briefly at the top for photos. It’s a bit of a steep incline to the top but very doable. Once at the lookout above you can see the beauty of the park for miles! A great spot to stop, have a snack and enjoy the beautiful fall colours. Additionally, the exit of the trail is very easy to navigate as it’s relaxing walk along a beautiful beach shoreline. We will continue to do this trail every year as it gives us the best bang for our buck. Shorter and easier to navigate than Centennial Ridges with one of the best views in the park as your payoff.”

“We just got back from a week at Sleepy Hollow and we will definitely be returning. We were a group of 3 trailers, 10 adults and 8 kids. We had a blast. Everyone was so friendly. The park is very clean. The playground is awesome. Our kids spent a lot of time playing there with the new friends they made. The beach is clean and the water is beautiful. From someone who isn’t a fan of seaweed, it gets my approval. There is a paddle board and Kayak available for free. The owners are amazing. So friendly and accommodating. If you are ATV lovers, this is the park for you. So many beautiful trails to explore. The only thing I’d like to see updated is the hydro. It is only 15amps, some sites are 20amp. 30amp is what we needed to be able to run our AC and a toaster/kettle/microwave. It definitely doesn’t deter us from coming back though. See you next year, Sharon! 🥰”

“I ordered two separate large meals for my intimate cottage wedding recently. I had always heard good things about Abbey Gardens but they completely blew us away! The food was fantastic and everyone raved about it. We worked with a few staff members who were all amazing, responsive and catered to our needs and requests. We had leftovers that I personally ate for days as it was so delicious, I highly recommend the chicken pasta casserole and butter tarts! Thank you so much to the chef and to everyone we worked with for such amazing food for our event!”

“A real joy to visit - the staff clearly care about the wolves so much and were generous when answering questions. The non-invasive viewing area was a nice touch and I loved the random collection of wolf related movie posters. Had a great time for an hour. Thank you.”

“We had a wonderful weekend here, although it was rainy when we visited. The folks who live in the park are all very friendly and were welcoming to us outsiders who were just camping for the weekend. My friends and my wife and I had a really large campsite - four tents, and four cars - and we probably could've fit another ten tents on the size. Waterfront access, which was great, although mucky. This park is beautiful if you are looking for a nice, friendly and well-maintained alternative to the provincial park system (or if it's booked up)!”
