“Very nice little park. Play area for younger children with swings slide and jungle gym climbing apparatus. Tar mac basketball court. Grass area that gets used for soccer. Shade trees and benches and two enclosed tennis courts. Park is enclosed by fences on three sides and local ice rink on fourth. Adjoining the smaller park is another separate ball diamond of regulation size replete with night lights and set of bleachers.”

“This is a good place! The hosts were warm. The room was nice (it's not the Hilton, but still comfortable and clean). Because of Covid, we wanted to stay in a motel rather than hotel as we used to. We were a bit worried it could be run down but it really wasn't. It was kept up to date and everything was in good condition. We'd choose to stay here again if need be.”

“Amazing park and playground! We were just stopping in on our way through for a quick break with the kids and this playground is amazing. Lots of fun structures and activities, washrooms were clean and convenient and lots of shade and big trees. We are from out of town but will stop here again if passing through!”

“Really nice historic trail, great for hiking and dog walking year-round. It is easy to access from downtown with a parking lot and near bus routes. Con: it really needs to be cleaned up (garbage, graffiti, old rusty/broken fences, etc.)”

“It depends on the day you go and who is there. The park is great for all levels. Kids just learning to pros. However there are teens that smoke, swear and drink at times. So you need to be there and manage what your kids do and tell them when to move out if the way.”

“Great place to walk. I brought my dog. Bring water for your dog, I didn’t see any access to the lake. I love the boardwalk. A beautiful view of the water and long enough walk which leads into open area with play area for kids. Lots of huge trees to sit in the shade and take in the beauty, or have a picnic. Very peaceful park. Very well kept and clean.”

“Amazing antique carousel. The attention to detail on the animals is incredible. Who can beat the cost of $0.5 per rider? We bought 20 rides for $1. Just to note that the card is only valid for the existing season (so 2019). We had no problem using up the rides with the four of us. Just note that there are some animals that do not go up and down, rather, are stationary. It truly did not matter to us. We will definitely be back.”

“There is one main trail, a 2nd trail closer to the canal, then another trail on the other side that winds around a pond. It is a popular spot for taking dogs out, for riding bikes. A few rocks are placed together as rest stops, high enough to sit on comfortably. Wear boots on wet days as the trails are dirt and/or gravel and can get quite muddy with puddles. Walk to the end and watch the ships coming and going, sailboats and looking across to Toronto's skyline to pick out the shape of the CN tower.”
