“I haven't frequented many pool halls in several years, so I have nothing to compare with this place. It's pretty sweet! This is our local place, and it makes for a great date night or friendly hangout. I've never tried the food- no judgement there. The drink menu is ordinary but competent. The music isn't too loud. The service is prompt and unobtrusive. It's a hidden gem behind the cheap theatre, and I'm happy if you try it or leave it to the rest of us.”

“I always pick up 1-2 kits whenever I see them at a local market. Personally, I like the green curry. Its easy to spice it up with the chili peppers included, or leave it more on the sweet side for my daughters. Recently found out I can get the kits at the Avenida Food Market. This location also prepares it in about 5 minutes to take it home warm. All prepared orders are custom, and they even made a vegan friendly bowl last time. Excellent job folks.”

“We arrived at 10:30 on Easter Sunday and we're glad we did, because by 11:00 the restaurant was at capacity. We had several different dim sum dishes (sticky rice, shrimp won tons, dumplings, rice wraps, pork buns, meat balls, and some others I've forgotten), and found the food to be generally very high quality. Our only disappointment were the dumplings, which were too doughy. That being said, the filling was still tasty and came with the red wine vinegar which a lot of places are skipping these days, unfortunately. Of special note is their chili oil: it is extraordinarily good! I don't know what they've done to it, but it is miles better than any other that I've had in 30 years of dim summing. The establishment seemed very clean, including the washrooms. Very friendly and attentive service, got the order exactly right and refilled the waters and teapot without being asked. Price wise, it's about right for good quality dim sum: $83 for 4 adults plus tip.”

“Was visiting my partner a few days ago and we wandered into the Avenida Food Hall for lunch and to explore. A friend of mine recommended I try Eritrean food (lots of similarities to Ethiopian food) so I decided to give Teff' n Greens a go! The owner was one of the friendliest people I've ever met and had a true passion for what he was doing. I ordered the veggie platter, a dish meant for 2, and polished it off myself. Absolutely delicious cooking, and it's great to see that everything is plant based and that their plates and utensils are compostable. I highly recommend giving it a go, anything with the yellow lentils would be divine, and I will definitely come back again.”

“I've gotten take out from Bangkok street food twice now, and both times it's been really good. First time I had the red curry, second time, the drunken noodles, both vegetarian with tofu. The only thing I would change is that both menu items indicated they are very spicy, and neither were really spicy, I would say more on the mild side. I added a lot of sriracha to my drunken noodles! Still, I would go back and maybe just ask for them to kick it up a notch, which you may also want to do if you love the spice like I do! Really tasty food, highly recommend.”

“Great variety and something for everyone at Expat from their famous pork belly to some fabulous Indonesian dishes. I didn't know that gluten free could be so tasty. I also like that they have two portion sizes as the large was too big for lunch so I have eaten there numerous times. They also have a loyalty card so your 10th meal is free and I am very close to that. :) I would recommend anything on the menu. If you are worried it is too spicy, they are happy to give you a sample which then makes your choice difficult as they are all so good.”

“I am a big fan of Vietnamese food and have tried almost every Vietnamese restaurant in Calgary. Sunshine is easily my favorite. If you like spicy food (really spicy) I highly recommend the satay beef soup. I also really like the spring rolls. I used to live pretty close by but now live across the city. After trying many different Vietnamese places that are closer I would rather drive all the way across town to Sunshine!”

“I've only had dim sum here and it's better than some at Chinatown! It's not the type of dim sum that goes around with carts. So you'll have to wait a little for your order to be made, but it's worth the wait. The place is really small so make sure you get there early or with willingness to wait to be seated (I don't know if they take reservations). Service is just OK. Plenty of parking spots. One of my favorites here are the rice crepes and the BBQ pork buns. But really everything I've tried it's really good and fresh.”
