Bear Mountain Motel

This motel is really cute and has a nostalgic feel. You can tell it is a small family business and they are continually working on updates and improvements over time. It is a simple motel experience, but the rooms are clean and service is great. Their coffe/tea/hot chocolate station in the office is really great. We got a room with a small kitchen and it was a lifesaver from having to eat out every meal during our stay, as we have dietary restrictions, little kids, and Waterton restaurants are not inexpensive! I love that we could bring our dog and the fee was only $25 for the whole stay, compared to $25 per night at another hotel we looked at. The location is great, just a short walk from the lakeshore and downtown. If your looking for the lap of luxury this is probably not your place, but if you want a reasonably priced place to stay while you enjoy Waterton with your family and pet, Bear Mountain is where it’s at! We already have our next visit booked!

Loved our weekend at Bear Mountain. First time and we will be back. Room was very spacious. We had the two bedroom. Blackout blinds are great. Free coffee in the office is a nice treat. They even had oat milk. Friendly staff.

We enjoyed our extended long weekend here thoroughly! We had a 2 bedroom suite with a sofa bed and the room had enough room for our family of 5 to sleep comfortably. The queen beds were comfortable and pillows were also great (we have had some bad hotel pillows before!!), the sofa bed was a sofa bed but perfect for a 12 year old. The bathroom was pretty small, especially the shower, and a bit of a challenge to share with 5 but it worked. We loved that it was dog friendly, our pup loved to look out the screen door. The wooden chairs outside of every room are a great touch, we enjoyed our morning coffees and late night star gazing out there. The coffee, tea and hot chocolate at the reception was a great touch and overall the staff were wonderful. Location cannot be beat, across the street from the lake and just a short walk to main street, not a lot of need to drive - so relaxing! The motel warns you of on their website that it's an older motel so soundproofing isn't great, the biggest noise we had was our teenagers giggling in the bedroom nextdoor so beware of teenagers :P

Loved everything about this place! From the initial booking with owner Jimmy to last day at checkout, the service was absolutely top notch by all the staff. Location is unbeatable right in the heart of Waterton. There were no kitchenette rooms left when I booked but we were set up beautifully with a microwave, hot plate, a box of kitchen supplies, and there are fridges in every room so we were left wanting for nothing. Couple of BBQ's available for use which we enjoyed two nights of our stay and fresh coffee, tea and hot chocolate available from morning till night. Rooms are basic and dated but very clean and comfortable. Highly recommend this gem to anyone looking for a place to stay in beautiful Waterton. Thanks Jimmy, Ashley and all the staff for making our stay so wonderful!

Its a basic motel in a fantastic location - right in the heart of Waterton town. There is nothing fancy about it, but the price of the stay reflects that. However, there is nothing lacking in this facility. The rooms are clean and has everything you need. We love the seating outside the rooms so we can hang out, and drink our hot drinks in the morning and chill in the evening. There are grills and picnic tables that are open to use for all guests. The staff are great and very welcoming. An added bonus: they allow pets!

We would stay here again!
