The room was better than I expected. It got a full kitchen with oven, microwave and stoves in your room. More than that, the fireplace definitely made the room look and feel more cozy. The whole room was super clean. The only downside was the tiny bathroom. But couldn't complain for this affordable price.
Got a one room with queen and a double bed. It's small, but on the good side it was very clean and there is a small kitchen with a midsize fridge, heat plate and microwave.
The only down size was there is no place to keep clothes. Everything had to be kept in the suit cases
It is an older building so you will hear EVERYTHING. We were on the bottom floor and people up stairs were playing music and of course you could hear it. The doors are not solid so you can hear every noise in the hallways.
This is a decent place if you are spending one night but would not recommend staying longer UNLESS you get a second floor room.
If you need anything you have to go across the road to the newer hotel. Again either this is due to service industry having issues filling up roles or just the MAN cutting back on expenses to save a buck.
The interior of the room looks very unique in style, very comfortable bed and nice tub in the room. They also prepared tea bags and cookies, which seemed very thoughtful. Room is very clean, with nothing to complain about. Front desk lady was extremely kind and sweet, she gave us a map and a magazine as well as explained all the attractions around the area. Highly recommend this place.
I recently stayed at Crandell Mountain Lodge and overall, I had a pleasant experience. The room was nicely designed, cozy and gave off a rustic, quaint vibe, the view was great too. However, there was no TV in the room which wasn't a huge issue, but I do believe it should be disclosed when booking for those who may prefer to have one.
One thing to note is that the town of Waterton Park is pretty much a ghost town during the offseason, so if you're looking for a bustling atmosphere with lots of attractions and dining options, this may not be the place for you. Only two restaurants were open during my stay and there were no grocery stores or other attractions available. This should have been mentioned when booking so that guests are aware of what to expect.
Other reviews mentioned that the walls were quite thin, which can be a bit of an issue if you're a light sleeper or easily disturbed by noise. But despite this, I found the staff to be very friendly and welcoming, which made up for any minor inconveniences.
Overall, I would recommend Crandell Mountain Lodge if you're looking for a cozy, rustic stay with a charming bear-themed room. However, keep in mind the lack of amenities in the surrounding town during the offseason.
