“Excellent little place for tapas! Service is fantastic and all menu items were delicious. Some favorites were the tempura shrimp, the beef tenderloin, and the clam chowder. Would have ordered more plates if we could have afforded it! While the wine list is extensive, it would be nice to see more selection for wines served by the glass. Place is very clean, and the front of the restaurant is accessible for wheelchairs. Was very quiet went we went in for an early dinner, but our server mentioned almost all of the tables were reserved for later that evening, so reservations are recommended for popular meal times.”

“I had the Argentinian prawn pizza and pepperoni. One of the best Neapolitan style pizzas I’ve had in BC. The crust was airy, puffy and crispy and the bottom was super thin. The prawns were juicy and the pepperoni had honey drizzled that gave it a sweet and savoury flavour. Definitely will return. Service was also great!”

“This is my favourite cafe for excellent lattes in real crockery. Yesterday, Saturday, was their cinnamon buns morning, the best I have ever tasted. I love their cakes...and ...their soups are divine. I have soup there for lunch all the time, it comes with a toasted buttered baguette. Perfect. Socially distanced seating feels safe; staff is friendly, excellent about sanitizing. I like to sit outside under a beautiful old tree with chattering ravens. Makes my morning.”

“All I can say is WOW. During this COVID season, ordering a wedding cake was super stressful, but Ruth & Dean made me 5 separate cakes and they were stunning. They put so much effort into making each cakes icing texture different and embellished. The cake was delicious-I had the salted caramel vanilla and it was the best cake I’ve ever had. Every day since my wedding I have been dreaming of their cake!! I HIGHLY recommend trying it!!”

“Not a great music venue. No room for dancing, and a strict "quiet zone" was enforced throughout. There was a man from Beacon Ridge Productions walking around policing everyone's behavior if they moved their chair, or so much as whispered to their neighbor. Very uncomfortable and disrespectful. This was a fun bluegrass show we paid $60 to attend. The music was wonderful.”

“Came here on a Monday night. Spent 1 and a half hours waiting for our food. The tempura starter was good. We ordered sushi and sashimi and they both fell apart at the touch. We mentioned it to the chef, and he told us it was because they were so busy (there were 3 other tables there) and they didn’t have time to let the rice cool before making the rolls. It wasn’t busy at all, but they were clearly understaffed. I don’t understand how they didn’t have enough rice for a Monday night service. To be fair, they gave us free soup and a free desert to make up for the slow service and took the worst rolls off the bill. We might try this place again, but not for a while.”

“Having recently moved to Victoria to be a student, I have made a point of driving through town and stopping at little places to dine and explore the local cuisine. I happen to find this little pizza shop as I passed by on my way back to school and was delighted to find the warm welcome and home cooked pizza as if it came from my mother's kitchen. The man that cooked the pizza was nice and gentle spoken and though he was quiet you could tell his compassion for his food went into it as we later tasted. The pizza is hot and well-cooked and full of flavor. The ingredients are plentiful and I will look forward to my next visit to this beautiful place.”
