Love this place. Gets very busy on weekends though.
The road was in amazing condition to get up here the camp host is awesome and the cap site is one of the best around great for kayaking hiking 4 by 4 ing campsite is very forested so lots of cover from rain and wind
Now one of my favourite campgrounds. The views of the lake and mountains are breathtaking here. Almost all the campsites are waterfront. The sites on the south side are on a beach that is great for swimming, it's shallow and warm and great for kids. The north side is apparently deeper and colder and more dangerous for swimming, someone drowned on the north side while we were there so be careful! The sites are rustic and there are only pit toilets and no showers. The logging road in is 35km but is quite rough so takes over an hour. An off-road vehicle is recommended but some of us did it in regular cars, just go slowly. We stayed in a double site with some friends. The drawback with the double sites though is your neighbours also brought friends so the noise is a factor. Next time we will get individual sites to try and minimise the yahoos and their lousy taste in music.
Worth the rocky road up. Great sites and beaches. The water was perfect. Kids loved it.
If you can hack the 20mile drive along the logging road you will be rewarded. Fantastic campsite and setting.
