Very zen place to visit. There is a little bit of something for everyone. There is a museum aspect to this classical Chinese garden and a tranquil park as well. There is normally koi fish swimming in the ponds but unfortunately they were not there on this trip. A must check out for tourists and anyone looking for a quite spot.
A little gem in the middle of a big city. As soon as you enter the garden, the city melts away. No noise pollution. The pond is nice to look at (even better in the later spring when the lily's are growing and the koi and turtles are out. It's just a nice break from the city.
This was one of our highlights on our trip. It's absolutely amazing and very much worth the admission fee. We could have spent the day there it's so beautiful. The tour guide was amazing.
Be aware when you are walking there. Depending on how you get there, you essentially wak through "skid row" so I wouldn't recommend walking there at night or by yourself.
The garden has a free side and a paid side. The free is nice place to go to get away from the city but it can get a bit muddy during after the rain and crowded during the weekend. The paid side is more serene and tranquil with covered areas and intimate gardens. There's even a small gallery with hot tea and a few other exhibits. I always enjoy going to the garden both on the paid and free sides.
