“I really was surprised at how much we enjoyed this place, the people we met and the feel of the island. Will go back next summer Met Cathy McLeod, selling jam @ the market. Reunited after 35 years. Played golf, visited a vineyard and ate the best burgers just outside of Herriot Bay”

“2 of the best business' owners I know they work with any one. I have been in and out as life changes for me and they always find a way to fit me in I have been here like 20 times in 26 years in my life to live here. On top of that they do well with my mother who struggles with socialization and they always find a way to make it work out. She can be hard to work with when angry but they find a way. The residents will go the extra mile to help u out just give them a chance. Don't let looks of old rv make u feel different the locals recycle, reuse and repair anything a example of close community's. Just remember to drive slow because dust is a issue on everything and children play lots. Resident much appreciate it. Who knows maybe u will make a friend for life here.”

“We stayed here in our RV for 10 days in late September, 2022. Really loved it. It is very well maintained, and the views are beautiful! We loved the location too - far enough out of town for a quiet, peaceful setting, but close enough to town for any amenities you might need. Found a great walking trail along the beach too. We will definitely be back.”

“Large mountain lake near Great Central, well stocked (trout, steelhead) camping/RV sites available - Black bear country, be aware.”

“Great space and beautiful landscaping. Everything was new and well maintained. The bathrooms were the cleanest I've ever seen at a campsite. The staff were very friendly and the customer service was top notch. We tented here and the only thing holding it back was the size of the sites for tenting. They are a bit on the cozy side once you add a vehicle. You could park outside the site but it wasn't convenient for us. Also note that the spots for the tent are raised platforms filled with sand. They are perfectly leveled and free from bumps but if the footprint of your tent is any larger than 10x10 it might not fit.”

“We stayed here one night. Sites are close together with no privacy. Our site was next to a permanent camper who used our picnic table as a drying rack to dry their outdoor rug. Great beach location though!”

“It's a great RV park with an awesome little BBQ restaurant. 1st thing, ignore all the bad reviews about the owner. If you are a person who thinks sensitivity training at your workplace is a good use of time and money, you should just pass on because you will not be pleased. On the other hand, if you want a great dinner with some humor that might be a bit crude, then this will be a great place for you.”

“This place is awesome. Wish I knew about it 10 years ago. It has everything for young families, empty nester, or people looking to have a great summer.”

“The last 2 miles to the campground are a dirt road. Sedans can make it but may hit bottom if the ruts are driven incorrectly. SUV's, and trucks will easily make it. Cost of a site per night is 18 Canadian as of 8/23. The campsites are laid out nicely, giving each site the room to park, cook, and set up tents in a comfortable fashion. Their are two vault toilets and a hand pump for potable water. The "put in" to the lake is a simple gravel road to the lake, lined by large boulders. Signs explain history and other information and express the need for heeding safety protocol due to grizzly bears that live in the area. Grizzlies have been seen passing through the campground now and then.”

“Needs to clean the place up the winter gravel is still on the road creates a lot of dust”

“Clean tidy & well maintained site. Nice green area & children's playground in the centre. Individual sites varied in size & privacy. WiFi excellent & included in rental fee. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is that looking at the website & the site map, we expected an ocean view, but that misconception was my fault. That said the beach was very close by & unspoilt.”

“This is an amazing gem of a place to golf ⛳️ with family. The scenery is beautiful. Janine and her family are excellent hosts and they serve up delicious fruit pies. I have been going to this golf course with my family for many years and we still enjoy golfing and eating pie after the game. It’s a tradition!”

“I have extreme fond memories of this campground as I have taken my kids there during the summer throughout their entire childhood. For many years the same family has operated this resort and every year they continue upgrading all areas of the campground. Again this year, we have enjoyed our stay for a week in the summer. All aspects of the campground is kept very meticulous. From the campsites to the washrooms and all areas in between, they outdo themselves in making it the best possible experience that customers can have. Looking forward to our return visit in 2024.”

“This place is fantastic. The manager is very kind and helpful. Washrooms are so clean! And beautiful laundry facilities too. The park is safe and residents pull together like a family! A very friendly place!”

“I cycled from Vancouver to Cortes Island and back, and I camped at Deep Bay RV park in both directions. This RV park is bike-packer friendly. The owners were welcoming and the views of the ocean are stunning. The hot showers and community kitchen were also a welcomed surprise. I slept peacefully both nights, which is key when bike packing. Some reviews here complain about a lack of privacy, but I found the long-term members friendly, welcoming, and respectful of privacy. I would choose a place like Deep Bay RV over any provincial campground.”

“What a great place to camp and spend a few days. Dianne and Hal are great people that own this business. The property sits high above town so not too much traffic noise. The sites are level and clean. The bathrooms are spotless and she even provides a towel to step on after your shower. Plenty of hot water. You can walk into town for a meal or have Hal's famous Halibut and fries done to perfection delivered to you camper door. Go and enjoy this gem of a Campground.”
