“We had a very nice lunch here. The food tasted amazing and the staff were very friendly! They had a kids menu with crayons and good variety (10$ including dessert). So many cake desserts to choose from; I would recommend lemon cake! Wonderful seafood chowder and fish and chips. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place :)”

“Good restaurant with a splendid window view to a cliff across the water. The interior decor was lovely and perfect for a date night setting. The lobster was finger licking good. I spent a good 30 min dissecting it and enjoyed every last bit of it. Take note this is one of the more popular restaurants in the area, definitely recommend having a reservation for this place”

“The Strait Area Museum is small but mighty! Angie and team are very welcoming and share so much interesting information and anecdotes about the history of the Causeway and surrounding areas. Very neat historical items, records of the area, and a gift shop, ice cream barn and gazebo. A great place to spend some time.”

“Enjoyed a dinner there. Service was a bit slow to get my order but good afterwards. Seafood chowder was thick & creamy, very good. Fish cakes were also good, side vegetables a bit blend but used chutney & tartar sauce to give them a bit of taste..”

“Lovely little store and cafe. Good coffee, amazing selection of local art and good food (eg specialty olives, cocktail ingredients, local sausage, hand knit and hand carved gifts). Update: Had to come back and add that it was the best lemon loaf I've ever had.”

“I stopped in for a meal before the Celtic Colours concert and I was not disappointed. Although very busy, I was seated quickly and the service was excellent. I opted for the Roasted Vegetable Pasta Puttanesca. It was delicious. The veggies were fresh and the Puttanesca sauce was rich and flavourful. I'm looking forward to coming back one of these days for the music. Highly recommend.”

“Magnificent. A beautiful location made even better by the fall colours. The room was great with s nice view of the stream. Our tour of the Distillery (by Cecil) was very informative. The food at the restaurant was also excellent and quite reasonably priced. One negative was the terrible pot marked condition of the parking area. Only a minor inconvenience however.”

“Nice clean rooms, perfect view. We didn't need any service so I can't take that. Location was 30km out of our daily scenic route, but it was our only option so we tried it. We would go there again.”

“Margeri was our server. She was very pleasant and wonderful to talk with. Very informative about the local seafood scene. We had the lobster and snow crab meal. It was phenomenal. We were sat by a window and had a great view of the ocean. Although we left before the sun set, if you time it right, I imagine the view would be amazing. Will be back.”

“Laurence's is a one of the few remaining nice and unique "country stores " on Cape Breton . it has a little bit of everything, from groceries to paint to hardware to health items .Often has local hand made knitted woollen items. Ice cream you can enjoy sitting on their picnic table as you watch the fishing boats coming in or leaving the harbour from Belle Cote beach wharf opposite Margaree Harbour , on your way to the beach . A great view of the coastline . Also next to what we call the "range lights" which are two very original style lighthouses.. Might be the last twin lighthouses in Eastern Canada.re maybe A good place as a rest stop to let the kids . burn off some energy too . It's just a few minutes from the Ceilidh Trail (#219) and the Cabot Trail.”

“We orded a medium pizza, regular donair and a slice of cake. Came to about 40$, so the prices were pretty reasonable. We liked the pizza, especially the mozzarella which was nicely browned. The donair was another story though. It came on a pizza-like crust and coated in the traditional super sweet sauce that has the consistency of mayo. I'm not sure if that's typical but it wasn't to our liking.”

“The meat pie was delicious, but the portion was surprisingly small. Good gravy! I don't know why, I can't recall if the menu says this, or my expectations were just set somehow. Like some outside force whispering into my brain, the cranberry sauce will be homemade, the cranberry sauce will be homemade. It wasn't.”

“There was a man outside here a few weeks ago. And this man threw oranges at me in the parkinglot and he beat me unmerciful on and about the head. It was not nice. I hope this man repents. If you see the orange weilding man, please tell him that Billybob will never forgive him but turning to jebus could be fruitful.”
