The museum protects and provides on-site and on-line access to the history of the Mahone Bay area to prevent it from becoming forgotten or lost. The main exhibits are the 1754 Settlement of the area, Shipbuilding in Mahone Bay, Three Churches of Mahone Bay, Local Ceramics Collector Percy Inglis, Settler Families of Mahone Bay, Early Kitchens, WWI.”

“A great place to bring kids or anyone interested in fire fighting/fire fighters. Two antique fire engines on display. The owner has deep knowledge of the industry and history. Fun little stop while you are in Lunenburg. We were able to see it due to a home tour going on. I would recommend calling to make an appointment unless you are attending a function there.”

“The best library ever ! It belongs to 18s century! It was a summer's vacation house and the lady who owned it gave it for people to use it as a public library; it is a great place that you can find every single old fashioned stuff in it. The lady who taking care of the place is the kindest and I hope she read this and be happy all the time! Deffintly I recommend you to visit this little library if you are coming to chester!”

“This place is a gem - a trove of historical objects and stories. The lovely lady on duty spent 1.5 hours going through the house with me and sharing insights and discussing items and implications (refreshingly more welcoming then the taciturn curmudgeon at the lovely Zoe Valle Memorial Library across the street). I highly recommend this stop in Chester!”

“Was a nice place to explore and take a little hike however just to do the walking trail the entrance fee seemed a little steep as we were there less than an hour. I'm glad it wasn't the only reason we made the trip from Halifax or I would have been disappointed.”
