“Today, January 31, 2023, in NE Ohio it is sunny, but very cold. A stay-at-home day, I decided to cook comfort (pasta). I opened a small cookbook my husband obtained while staying at Witman Inn in Caledonia, NS 24 years ago. It was his last trip, but it was very spiritual and a miracle. I made Nancy's Pasta Sauce, which is so different. I've made it a few times, but today, again, it brought back memories of a miracle-a trip that brought a return to Jesus. The sauce is almost like a tomato stew containing amazing ingredients that blend together for a different experience. And while I see Witman Inn is no longer, maybe there is hope that Kempt Country Inn has the rights to offer Nancy's Pasta Sauce, keeping a tradition and spiritual secret alive.”

“The campground is an excellent “Go To” place to camp. Very nice setting and relaxing with the river winding through the site. I was on Harley and tented there for 4 days and due to how large the grounds are, the sites are far enough apart for your own privacy. Georgie (who is the owner) is very friendly and will do anything to make your stay as best as it can be. Thanks for the great stay Georgie and wish you all the very best.”

“We stayed in the one bedroom suite in the white bungalow just across from the cottages. It was just lovely! It was very clean, modern and cozy. The suite came equipped with everything you would need, all we had to bring was our clothes, food and ourselves. There is also a BBQ with a picnic table out back to use. The location was fantastic, literally 5 minutes from beautiful Carter's Beach. The owners are very accommodating, we would definitely recommend!”

The common spaces felt cozy and the vibe was very friendly. Dorms were clean and confortable. You know it’s a good spot to be when doggos are allowed. “My children say Sea Star Cottage is their favorite place in the whole world. The cottage is cheerful and bright. It sits well back from a quiet road that leads to Carters Beach. The beach is just a quarter mile away - an easy walk or bike ride - and is truly spectacular with sand dunes and turquoise water. Our kids loved the stream that crosses the beach. It's a great place for splashing and building sand castles. There's a wooded path behind the cottage leading to a private rocky shore covered with wave-rounded stones - a lovely place for a picnic on a sunny day. Port Mouton is a tiny fishing village, but there are lots of things to do in the area. The local restaurants are surprisingly good too - especially if you like seafood. I'd definitely recommend this place for a family beach vacation.”

“We booked this for one night and stayed in the 3 bedroom shoreline room. Within an hour of arriving we booked a full week for next year! Amazing view, right on the beach. A well provisioned kitchen in a well maintained apartment style room. It even has a BBQ on the spacious deck for whipping up your own surf and turf! We were very impressed, and we anxiously await our next trip there.”

“Lane's catered our wedding at Sidanna Retreat on Sept. 5th and I cannot say enough great things about the service they provided and their food. We did not have a sit down meal, but opted instead for hot & cold appetizers with the added bonus of a poutine bar for a late night snack. Our guests loved the food and the staff at Lane's were a pleasure to work with and so accommodating. I would HIGHLY recommend using Lane's for any catering needs!”

Very accommodating and such a pleasure to stay with, I highly recommend renting their RV/Camper their incredibly clean and come with most things you’ll need. Very close to beaches and their own boat turned take out window with campsite delivery is one of a kind. Very impressed and have gained a repeat customer, can’t wait to book again!!”
