St. Edmunds and Peninsula Museum

Address: 7072 Hwy 6, Tobermory, ON N0H 2R0, Canada

Museum Point of interest Establishment Tourist attraction

“This tiny museum is located just outside main Tobermory. It's steeped in history and dates back nearly 200 years. There is no admission fee but they look forward to donations. Basically it is 2 small buildings - one is the old school and the other is the log cabin they stayed in. Note that the log cabin was situated in main Tobermory ( on rent i believe )but was relocated when the landlord wanted his property back. It was brought to the current address and reconstructEd- nearly 50 years back. The main school building is full of relics and stuff you probably have never seen. It was actually a school back in the day - there is a bell outside which was rung to call kids into school. You need to go and see the history in that building as it's hard to explain. Old attendance registers along with cursive hand writing sheets are there for all to see. Not sure if they have heritage status as yet but seriously think that the appropriate authorities need to look into. The 2 ladies there were really knowledgeable and friendly - go see the appliances they have and how Canada managed back then. Parking is available on site and its free. We need to understand and appreciate the resilience of people from that age - how they learnt and adapted to the times. For example back then no corporates made butter - it was made in house using age old appliances and techniques. See the pictures I have posted and you will understand.”

“I highly recommend you visit the Parks Canada Visitor Centre. There is a lot to learn about Canadian geography and history where there is a museum. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They can provide valuable information about places to visit. Another piece of advice you will hear from them is "please don't litter the Parks". And I am repeating this advice since it is a big issue. Keep the Parks clean!!”

Where u will see different flowers and birds if u visit at different times of the year. At the end of the boardwalk in the trees there is a almost 1 km trail that brings you to Adelaide st where u get a great view of the water. To your left u can see Red Bay beach.”

“Unfortunately, the museum was closed when I visited. Bummer, right? But you know what, just being there, right by the old light keeper’s quarters, I could still feel the history. I wandered around outside, imagining what life would've been like for those keeping watch over the waters of Georgian Bay”

Bruce Peninsula National Park

“Serene and the best place for clear waters in Ontario. Enjoy the views of Lake Huron and take a nice swim during summers. I stayed in a yurt near cypress lake and enjoyed every bit of it. Though grizzly bears and rattle snakes were spotted, fortunately for me and my gang, we didn't :) I suggest always travel in groups but don't miss the fun”

Outervision Adventure Tours

Address: 2582 Bruce County Rd 9, Lion's Head, ON N0H 1W0, Canada

Point of interest Establishment Tourist attraction

“Unbelievably good service for the price. We got a canoe delivered and picked up to Sauble Fall PP so we could explore the rivers in the area. It’s a family run business and you can tell that they love connecting people to the outdoors more than the money as they gave us a full extra day with our rental at no charge and did everything at our schedule (we had an awkward arrival & checkout time). We were helped by John, he has a great sense of humour and in general very good vibes. He gave us extra gear and route suggestions, and paddling tips appropriate for our level in an entertaining way. We really enjoyed the suggested route to the lake.”

Bruce Alvar Nature Reserve

Bruce Peninsula Mountain Bike Adventure Park

Address: 661 Bruce County Rd 9, Wiarton, ON N0H 2T0, Canada

Park Point of interest Establishment Tourist attraction

“Excellent Mountain Biking trail. Lots of signs and clearly marked trails. The Bike Buster trail is currently closed, but the others made for a fun ride! I've riden in the Hardwood Ski and Bike Epic 8 Hour Mountain Bike Race, and these trails were comparable. The trails are fairly flat with Ontario technical rock gardens, roots, and tight corners. Red is very hard, I had to walk some sections. Yellow is hard but managable. Green is medium, with lots of tricky sections and easier riding between them. White is easy and fun.”

Halfway Log Dump Parking

Address: Halfway, Log Dump Rd, Tobermory, ON N0H 2R0, Canada

Park Point of interest Establishment Tourist attraction

“This is NOT the parking lot to see the grotto. We ended up hiking for 5.5 hrs out and back to the grotto and it was a different terrain to do within the alloted timeslot. The hike was beautiful and there were a few spots where we had access to turquoise water without any people around. The view points along the way were breathtaking. Do carry a lot of water with good hiking boots.”

Peninsula Observation Deck

Address: 1 Bruin St, Lion's Head, ON N0H 1W0, Canada

Point of interest Establishment Tourist attraction

“It was a great experience at the Peninsula Observation Deck (AKA POD). It looks out into the bay (which is a great view in its own right), but what makes this place really special is the Bayside Astronomy program. It’s a group of volunteers who get together to raise awareness about the preservation of dark skies and why it’s in so much danger! The folks who run it are fabulous, very amicable, and very knowledgeable about our night skies. Will recommend to locals and tourists alike if you want to look at the night skies through some tremendous telescopes! I did takeaway a few things for anyone reading. A TL;DR: - don’t use LED lights on the blue end of the spectrum. Look for warm colours. - our tiny existence among the stars is a truly humbling experience.”

Lion’s Head Lookout Trail Parking

Address: McCurdy Drive Parkette, Bruce Trail, Lion's Head, ON N0H 1W0, Canada

Park Point of interest Establishment Tourist attraction

“The views of the limitless Georgian Bay are stunning. A hike best done on a clear summer day. The entire hike is under a green canopy. The lookouts get better and better till you reach the best at the Lions Head. The turquoise waters below are tempting but unreachable (at least till the Lions Head). The "keyhole" at the Head is mesmerizing. Make sure you book the parking a few days in advance and wear good grippy shoes as half the time you will be stepping on rocks and roots.”

The lion’s lookout point is the top destination you need to reach. No words to describe the turquoise water you see below. Those who love hiking, would definitely love this place.”
