HI Banff Alpine Centre

I give this place a solid 5. From the staff, front desk, cooks, bartenders, and everyone who keeps the place in shape, I give you all a solid "A". You were all excellent and made the trip a great experience. People, location, BBB the perks are the best bang for buck 100%. Easy transportation, plus you get a free bus pass during your stay to all major activities, sites and fun stuff in Banff. Parking is good, safe and no worries.

This is a very nice hostel and the staff is awesome. The view is incredible, the rooms are tidy and clean, and as opposite to other hostels I visited in the past few years, it's very quiet at night as the rooms are separate from the bar / dancing area, at least from where I was located. They also offer a lot of activities. I 100% recommend.

I'd stay again. V good value. The location is fine but not perfect. A 30min walk into town or there is a bus. They provide free bus passes too so not bad. The main thing is the rooms smell bad. Like stale sweat. They need to find better ways to air out their rooms. It made me almost gag on arrival. Also the men's basement bathroom has mould growing beside 1 of the toilets. But it's generally clean just seems like a general ventilation problem!

Also the bar had loud bass and karaoke til 3am Saturday night heard from the rooms.

Great place for a cheap stay. The beds are harder foam mattresses which I enjoyed, my gf did not. She also found the room to have a musty odor but I did not notice it.

The toilet was quite dirty and the bathroom could've been cleaned better.

I would stay here again

The only thing that was a minus was the non friendly demeanor from the cook. The rest was awesome! The front desk clerks were so friendly, and checking in was super easy. People in the dorms were nice, and pretty quiet. The location is perfect for walks, and bike rides, with enough space from downtown, and close enough that you're there in 5 mins by bus. Will visit the pub next time to comment on that. Cannot wait until the next visit in April!
