“We went to visit our daughter in Blairmore, and she took us for a drive all around the back roads, and we ended up at Castle Mountain Resort. Beautiful day! There was a wedding there that day, so we peeked in the banquet area. Really beautiful place, even in the summer. We didn't eat or anything, but my daughter said it's a great place to eat. Beautiful houses/ condos for people who want to live right on the mountain. Will definitely try to make it back in the winter to experience that season.”

“I came from California to visit friends in Calgary, and we stayed in Pincher Creek to visit Waterton Park. I decided to explore this neat little town on my own by foot. Saw the beautiful Lebel Mansion on a hill and wound up interviewing the staff about its history and present day function as an arts center. It was built in 1910 and was the residence of local businessman Timothee Lebel until 1924. The mansion was donated to the Roman Catholic Order Les Filles de Jesus for use as a hospital. In 1985 the town bought it, and it became the home of the Allied Arts Council. I was deeply impressed that many rural Canadian towns have arts and historical councils to amplify cultural pursuits. The facility has an art gallery, meeting room, studios, arts programs, and more. Personally, I think endeavors like this greatly enhance and brighten a local community.”

“A wonderful camping experience. We had never camped there, but we will definitely be back! The cross-country ski trials double as hiking trails in the summer. We hiked to the top of Mount Baldy for some gorgeous vies of the area. The lake would be great for kayaking or small boats. Just a note, bring your own potable water. There are pit toilets. A jewel to discover!”

“Nice little spot close to the highway. Lovely views from the top and at the bottom of the falls. A plaque states that this place was submerged under water in prehistoric times and signs of it are visible on the stratified rocks around. Small trails around the falls to view from both ends. Not much to do otherwise since there aren’t any shops or concessions around. It does have a washroom although cleanliness can be a bit of concern.”

“My girlfriend and I had a wonderful visit here. Very kind staff. The gentleman there offered us hoodies due to the rain and winds. I recommend this place to anyone returning home from the Crowsnest Pass area.”

“Nice location, down river from the dam. No cell service in campground though, you need to drive to top of the hill to get service. RV Dump station is also located in a different campground near top of hill . Approx a two minute drive. Reservoir is huge, but not ideal for kayaking. Too large a body of water. Campground itself is good layout. I would recommend looking for a spot where you RV awning will open to east side of your unit. Can get the gust of the wind out of the west which isn''t good for your awning.”
