“We went to visit our daughter in Blairmore, and she took us for a drive all around the back roads, and we ended up at Castle Mountain Resort. Beautiful day! There was a wedding there that day, so we peeked in the banquet area. Really beautiful place, even in the summer. We didn't eat or anything, but my daughter said it's a great place to eat. Beautiful houses/ condos for people who want to live right on the mountain. Will definitely try to make it back in the winter to experience that season.”

“We’ve experienced all three locations in the past three years. This is definitely the one we love most. What a nature's paradise! The Glamping Resorts always offers warm hospitality, stunning landscapes, and top-notch amenities. Hiking, kayaking and campfire camaraderie make it perfect for nature lovers. Last but not least, the manager Zach is incredibly nice and kind hearted. He did pretty birthday decorations for us. We really appreciated! BTW, we’re already expecting next location of Glamping Resorts in Canada.”

“The Barnaby Lakes / Southfork Lakes trail is popular with fisherman looking for Golden Trout, and is a great destination in early fall to see the larch turn gold before losing their needles. Southfork Lakes and back is about 10 km, and a 690 m ascent. The trail is maintained and fairly well marked with signs and orange markers. The trail requires crossing the Castle River near the start (and end) of this out-and-back trail. The river can be high during Spring run-off and following heavy rains. The trail starts off fairly level through the forest, then rises sharply for a few kilometers. Barnaby Lake is the first lake you encounter. Following the trail around the lake and a short climb brings you to Southfork Lakes - 2 lakes divided by a rock outcropping.”

“A wonderful camping experience. We had never camped there, but we will definitely be back! The cross-country ski trials double as hiking trails in the summer. We hiked to the top of Mount Baldy for some gorgeous vies of the area. The lake would be great for kayaking or small boats. Just a note, bring your own potable water. There are pit toilets. A jewel to discover!”

“Castle Provincial Park is my favourite spot to camp in Alberta (so far). Our site backed onto the river and we could hear the waterfall and sit our chairs directly beside the water. There are amazing views and great spots to walk. The campground is new and well-taken care of, the non-reserve sites are probably the best for views and river access. Note that there isn’t cell service so you’ll be off grid, a welcome change for some.”

“What a cool provincial Park where the cattle roam free. Drive slowly because there are cows everywhere. I never realized how much I loved cows until I drove through this area. We stopped a few times to observe the herds of cows that were along the side of the road very close to our vehicle. There is limited to no cell reception in the entire park so if something like that will ruin your vacation you should probably not come to this beautiful place.”

“This place is amazing. I wish I had my swimsuit with us. It is just about 50m away from the parking area. It's at least 6km of gravel from the main road.”

“We stayed here with friends for four nights, it's definitely the nicest camp area if you do not have a large trailer or RV. There were lots of folks in the designated camping areas but there really isn't a lot of privacy or shelter in other areas around castle. Lynx Creek has three different loops all first come first served, each loop has a vault toilet and waste receptacles. There are wells but it's not suggested to use the water for doing dishes. It would be good if they had a wash station for campers. Overall it was a good area for a digital detox getaway.”

“Very nice place. The owner was very helpful in accommodating us with a spot last minute due to our truck breaking down and was also helpful with letting me borrow some tools to help me fix the truck and get back on the road. We stayed for 3 nights waiting for parts. Camp ground has good access to everything you need within just a few minutes on a pedal bike! Camp was clean and quiet with pincher creek 200’ away to play it the water and watch some little fish. Thanks for the everything Dale. We will be back!”

“Nice location, down river from the dam. No cell service in campground though, you need to drive to top of the hill to get service. RV Dump station is also located in a different campground near top of hill . Approx a two minute drive. Reservoir is huge, but not ideal for kayaking. Too large a body of water. Campground itself is good layout. I would recommend looking for a spot where you RV awning will open to east side of your unit. Can get the gust of the wind out of the west which isn''t good for your awning.”

“Great little spot just off the highway. Campsites were clean and the park warden came by a few times to make sure things were good. Easy little walk to the calls and lots of wildlife / birds to see. There is a freight train track nearby but it didn't dampen my experience.”
