“A grass field for soccer. Not much available nearby if you want a coffee or anything like that. We typically stop in at Coffee on the Moon for a drink and a treat when we go there for a soccer game. There are trails nearby as well if you need to walk a dog or stretch your legs.”

“A nice little park that allows you to walk down to the Oceanside. Here you can see the Askew Creek spill into the ocean. There is a recently well built new path and stairs that gets you down here. Definitely visit on low tide as there is much to see and explore along the shoreline. Heck at an extremely low tide you could even walk all the way to Kin Beach. Do not go at high tide as there is not much to see or do, the water comes right up to the bottom of the stairs.”

“Echo Heights is a terrific municipal park located off the beaten path in Chemainus. The park offers two trailhead choices. One at the end of Creegan Drive and a second one at the end of Channel Blvd which offers 3 off street parking stalls. Both trailheads have map kiosks, garbage cans and dog poop bags although their are no restrooms at either. Echo Heights offers two loop options within the forest which is made up of second growth maples, fir and cedar trees. The trail is on the natural side and isn’t overly fit for strollers or wheelchairs but one could manage with the right amount of determination. A few stops along the trail their are beautifully made natural benches. Fall is beautiful as the maple leaves start to fall and the moss and ferns return to their lush green form. A nice simple trail to spend an hour on with loops covering under 2.5kms or more of you want to link up variations .”

“Pros: lots of things for kids to do with two great playgrounds, heated swimming pool, mini golf and an arcade area Cons: for anyone without a bathroom such as a small RV or tent the small outhouses are very old and should be replaced, they're very dim, smell terrible (compared to outhouses in provincial parks) and the fiberglass is getting soft and rotten. Sites not cleaned well, showed up to a picnic table covered in bird poop, would expect the sites to be landscaped better such as rake gravel etc etc. Majority of games in arcade are broken, hard to explain to a little one why he can't play the games, lights are on but out of order sign on most of the games. Bottom line is it's a fun place to camp with kids but for more than double the price of a provincial site I would expect the upkeep to be better than it is.”

“I was there today on a beautiful sun filled day. I took my client Norah there. Right beside us was an eagle in the the tree. I think they are getting ready for a race on the lake. There is a park there for children. A boat ramp and dock and of course lots of ducks. Great place to stop and enjoy the scenery. We had a pineapple mango smoothie and a danish from McDonalds sat in the car was lovely. People this is a must see if you are in our lovely town of Duncan.”
