“One of the newer stream crossings on the Cowichan Valley Trail. How did they get those steel beams into the bush? We had a magically experience on a hot August morning with ravens beckoning us to the creek and impressive totem. I recommend coming in off of Stebbings Road if cycling as it is mainly downhill from the parking lot. The trail twists through the forest and is in excellent condition. If you continue on northwards from the bridge you will come out at Sooke Lake Road. Should you decide to visit Kinsol Trestle you will be happy to find the trail reverts back to the old rail grade so no more hills. From the trestle loop back to Stebbings Road Park via Shawnigan Lake Road but be prepared for a long climb on a narrow shoulder.”

“Super easy walk, wide and smooth gravel trails. Nice views. Lots of family and kids around. The curvature of the trestle makes it a great place for photos. We came here after attempting the Old Baldy mountain hike and a sunny midday. There were lots of families and kids around. The paths are pretty well groomed and you can probably get by with somewhat fancy shoes (maybe not heels) and dress here if needed.”

“july 2021-- Strange to visit and see a near-empty campsite. After $1m taxpayer funded remodeling, and full closure last year, the site is now very restricted, You can't use the beach without your pre-reserved $40/day booking. No day use permitted. There are so few alternative wind access locations in BC, it is sad to see this area become so off limits. Just blame covid.”

“Spectacular place to see, and the freedom and history The land gives off is absolutely raw, tranquil, spiritual, and just melts away any stress and a connection that moved through my body like an electrical current! Beautiful, breath taking, wonderful, mysterious, all of that and more! And how many millenia its been there unchanged....WOAH!”

“The spot is truly beautiful, on the lake, lots of big trees provide privacy between sites. Warning about the logging road that gets you there. My retro 35 year old trailer took a beating on the road in. About 2 km of pot holes on the worst road I have ever driven. It took us an hour to carefully and slowly drive through.”

“Pine Point is 20 stars, Grand Getaways Mgmt and Professionalism, -20 stars. Have been going to Pine Point for many many years with multiple family members. Last year our time there was ruined by a loud, obnoxious camper who we were told had been banned from there but for some reason was allowed to stay for two weeks because the new camp attendant didn't know this at the time she took his money. Everyone on the property was talking about how to AVOID this person with his two dogs (Mojo & Nova) which he yelled their names all day long and into the evening all throughout the entire property. This year we go back to find that he's been there again since JUNE!, is helping the paid camp attendant and then figures he owns the place, yelling and screaming and terrorizing people at night driving through, constantly yelling at people to slow down when they're not going fast to begin with, and again, yelling for his unleashed dogs all day and evening long. The entire property and the only voice you hear is this guy. Called Grand Getaways, they don't return your calls and when you finally catch them off guard and they answer, they respond with "well, what do you expect us to do about it". Like get rid of him!!!!! He'd been banned for life and should be banned again so as not to disrupt peoples quiet enjoyment while there. Then you're basically hung up on. I'm sure the Gov't would love to hear that this is who they've employed to contract out to. It's been nice knowing you Pine Point but won't be back until Grand Getaways not longer has the contact. Then hopefully the next person is smart enough to get rid of Mr. Obnoxious once and for all so we can once again enjoy the property.”

“Amazing place! Abundance of parking available on day beach! Lots of picnic tables and swimming area is secured. A heated washroom, a shower room and taps available beside picnic tables for water supplies! Would love to go there on a sunny day. Pictures are from a smokey day from the wild fire!”

“We love camping here! Great family friendly facilities, a wonderful beach for swimming, trails for hiking and kayaking. During this Covid time people kept nicely separated on the beach and everyone was very polite. Great playground facility for the kids, lots of places to ride around. There are two shower facilities. We have camped here several times and this year enjoyed bringing our three granddaughters.”

“Overall it is a tiny park on a tiny lake; it was however a nice place to spend the time while waiting for our Airbnb check-in time. (Park was clean, docks were a tad littered at the time, boat launching amenities seemed adequate)”

“A grass field for soccer. Not much available nearby if you want a coffee or anything like that. We typically stop in at Coffee on the Moon for a drink and a treat when we go there for a soccer game. There are trails nearby as well if you need to walk a dog or stretch your legs.”
