“I happened to find out about this coffee roaster on a trip I took this fall in Northern BC. I tried a sample and ordered several bags of beans when I got home. It was shipped fast and I could smell the coffee through the package when it arrived.. It's my new favorite! You have to drink this brand of coffee plain in my opinion because it's so good. Special care and attention is taken from farm to roaster to customer. This is 5 star coffee. ;)”

“Nice little cafe/restaurant nearly on the top of the mountain next to the Siberia bowl and ski slopes. Friendly and quick service. Tasty soups, panini and coffee. Great stop to make a pause or do lunch when you're up the mountain. We loved the laid back atmosphere and no-fuss attitude. Toilets are communal and outside - opposite of the building. Prices are fair and reflect the location. Loved it.”

“Decent pizza and great ideas, but nothing special in terms of flavour. Have had better but service was great and staff were friendly. Still would recommend though as the pizza wasn't bad at all and we enjoyed the toppings and their selection, just needed some more flavour.”

“Chef Barrie and her team provided a phenomenal buffet dinner for our wedding. Our guests RAVED about the food for days. The menu options were plentiful and diverse. No one was left hungry!”

“Authentic Indian food!!! Really enjoyed the food here as we were traveling and just wanted something other than the typical burgers and hot dogs you'd have while camping. Stopped in and ordered a bunch of food and brought back to the camp site to eat. Food was good and full of flavour; only reason I did not give a 5 star rating was because every chicken dish we ordered, the chicken was extremely dry and perhaps overcooked. I understand breast is traditionally more dry compared to dark meat, however, I'd expect a restaurant to be able to cook a tender chicken breast. Other than that, everything was good. Service was excellent and very accommodating. I was extremely happy that they actually did take away vs many of the other restaurants in the area who advertised they do, however, in fact do not offer take away service.”

“I recently dined at an old Chinese restaurant in Fernie, British Columbia, and it left quite an impression. This establishment has a rich historical charm that takes you back in time. The interior is well-maintained and remarkably clean, preserving its authentic ambiance. The highlight, of course, is the food. The flavors were a delightful journey through traditional Chinese cuisine, and the dishes were prepared with care and expertise. It's evident that the chefs take pride in their culinary skills. However, it's worth noting that this historical gem comes with a price tag. The dining experience here is on the pricier side, which might not be suitable for every budget. But if you're willing to splurge a bit, it's an excellent place to savor both Chinese cuisine and local history.”

“While the restaurant was quite busy, we did not have to wait long for a table. With it being one of the few places to get food on the hill, it was quite pricey for what you recieve. We got the veggie burger ans the Buffalo chicken burger, which were both very good. Although the restaurant was packed, service was fairly quick concidering, and the staff was always busy. One unfortunate downside of the seating was that with everyone coming in geared up, there was little available storage/hangers for you to hang your jackets/helmets/bags, which clutered the already small seating areas. Some of the seating had small shelves under the chair for gloves and such, which was nice.”

“Great place for breakfast. On the pricier side but the quality of food is worth it. Really good eggs Bennett and hash browns. The croissant sandwich was also good but the cheese was very rich. If you are super hungry or are feeling like something rich the croissant is they way to go. French toast was excellent too.”

“We were looking for a cater for our small wedding on the ski hill in Fernie BC and Victor was recommended to us. It was definitely one of the best decisions. The process and communication with Victor was so smooth and he took all our ideas and was able to create an unforgettable evening that our guests and ourselves will never forget. The food was absolutely to die for and his attention to detail was highlighted in every bite you took. By far the crowd favourite was his scallops and bacon and the pork belly. If you are looking for a caterer or private chef in Fernie then we proudly recommend Victor. Tracy & Bryan de Kleine”

“Had a pleasant dining experience here solo. Since I was alone I sat at the bar. I ordered the Fettuccine Bolognese. Pasta was maybe a touch under cooked, a bit more al dente then I prefer. But overall quote tasty. The bread was delicious. I could order this item again.”

“If you're in Fernie, you should go here. It's a little hard to find - it looks like a house on a side street. Friendly ownership/help that was very patient with us. Their cookies and pastries were excellent. Their bread was great, but it only lasted a couple of days, so eat fast. The flan was different but good. The meat sticks were also interesting - a strong flavor, dry and tough - but good if you like that kind of thing.”

“The Foodshare program here is amazing. What a wonderful idea to decrease food waste and help feed people in Fernie by giving away the almost expired food for free. Fernie can be quite expensive so this place helped feed me real and healthy food and provided ingredients to cook hearty hot meals.”

“We ended up here two days in a row. One of our party has strict dietary requirements. The restaurants in town didn't really accommodate this or were very expensive. Save On Foods rescued us with excellent chicken pot pies and delicious Thai chicken soup on the first visit. The second visit was for a gourmet sandwich with chips and a drink deal and snacks. Interesting to us, as visitors to Canada, to see what brands and what groceries might differ, and found the rolling shopping basket interesting. Bought a "Proudly Canadian" reusable bag, instead of paying for plastic bags, which became one of our souvenirs. Thanks to the deli employees for their time and kindness (first trip) and to the lady employee walking by who helped us out and the lady at check out (second trip). You all made grocery shopping in Fernie one of our pleasant experiences.”

“Being from Vancouver Island with a fisherman father, I grew up eating fresh West Coast seafood. But let me tell you, my recent experiences with Kootenay Fish Project has blown me away. I'm quite picky when it comes to freshness and KFP exceeded all expectations. I’ve tried the ling cod, halibut, salmon, candied salmon, scallops, and spot prawns and WOW! Everything is always super fresh and never has the strong “fishy” aroma of seafood that has been stored too long. Those of you who haven’t tried BC spot prawns, I highly recommend. There is nothing quite like them! KFP prices are always super reasonable. As I learned from the owner, Michael, his mission is to provide access wild sustainable seafood to communities that have been long in need. Michael also goes above and beyond for his customers with his fish deliveries, and I also love the convenience of being able to buy it in store at the Local. Thank you KFP for your incredible seafood and for all that you do for the Kootenay communities.”

“This is our 2nd time visiting Fernie Cattle Company and it definitely will not be our last. The steaks are cooked to absolute perfection. They leave your mouth watering for more once your finished! I had the ribs as well this time and that homemade blueberry bbq sauce is divine. Like next level sauce. Each dish is served separately on top of the steak or meat of choosing. We got the brie, crab mushrooms, Brussel sprouts and baked potato. ALL of them were delicious. To us, this is the only steakhouse we will ever go to when visiting this area and we will continue to recommend it to everyone. The owners and the staff are accommodating and professional. Ignore the 1 star ratings from the obviously entitled on here. This place is a gem!”

“Loved the customized experience and delicious wine at such a great price! You can get 29 bottles out of one kit! Looking forward to making a batch for holiday gifts this year. If I were having an event or wedding, this would be an excellent and affordable way to buy wine and personalize it. Thank you, Sharon!”

“We shared the elk/wild boar burger and the steak burger. Both were AMAZING!!!! Very juicy and flavorful steak burger and the lean game burger was paired exceptionally well with the blueberry mayo. Both the garden and Caesar salads were also very very good!! I’ll definitely be craving the burgers and will 100% come back on our next trip here!!”
