“A small regional park on Barnston island that has nice views of the fraser river. The park is part of Barnston island regional park that also includes Roberts Point rest area. It is best to leave car in Surrey Bend regional park and walk on the free ferry with bicycle. Total distance around Barnston island is 20 KM so a bicycle would help. It is possible to drive on and around Barnston island, but there is no parking in Robert Point or Mann Point so you can't stop for more than a few minutes.”

“Pitt Lake offers beautiful scenery just outside the city. There are four provincial marine parks along the lake – at Raven Creek, Dark Creek, Osprey Creek South and Osprey Creek North. Dark Creek, accessible only by bat offers limited camping spots (enough room for two to four small tents, and beautiful scenery both looking out at the lake as well as within the magical Forest. There is an outhouse for convenience (and it's a rather nice one considering the location), with beautiful terms and miss covered old growth Forest surrounding you. It can be wet, and Pitt Lake is prone to shifting weather...but it's a great paddle from the launch at the narrows, about 7-8 kms, with lots of wildlife in and out of the water to view. There is no real place to land you motor boat, it's more suited for canoes and kayaks; remember if your securing your boats to the logs on shore Pitt Lake is susceptible to tides, take it above high tide line.”

“Fantastic garden & brilliant decoration. Loved everything about it. There are lots of nice gardens, and landscapes, but this one exceeded my expectations by a lot. I truly liked every single second being there. Not to mention, it has brilliant decoration that adds to the aesthetic. Would totally recommend for tourists.”

“Beautiful all year round!! Even in the fall there are some roses left and of course Fall-coloured trees. Lovely view of the water from it as well. Parking is a very short walk away and can pay/extend parking from your phone too. A known spot for grads to take pictures here after the ceremony...:)”

“Good hike, beautiful views. South trail is in good shape, even though it's not extremely popular (it's also fairly steep). North trail is poorly marked and overgrown and damp (or at least it was the way by end of June), connection to Brunnswick mountain was even more so. Should be not too bad in dry conditions though.”

“I really liked the Aristolochia.”

“Our visit was in the dead of winter, but even in January there were some plants that were blossoming. The entire time we were strolling around there was a pair of bald eagles calling back and forth, flying overhead, and perching in the taller trees. The gardens are expansive and varied, and it would take multiple visits to properly explore the whole grounds. There's plenty to explore: the gardens vary from BC rainforest to wetlands to cactus house, and many other ecosystems. It's more of a work in progress than a glitzy tourist attraction, but well worth the visit.”

“The Fisherman's Memorial is highlighted by a giant fishing net repair needle. Surrounding the base are the names of hundreds of intrepid men and women, and the boat they served on, who sacrificed their lives in supplying fish to our economy. It is most moving!!!????????????”

“It's not all that big, but there's a cool hill with rock steps (why? who knows!) Lots of birds + usually a few people around enjoying the space. Not really a destination, but if you live nearby it's a good place to bring a dog or something.”

“Large and well kept park. You can breath the fresh forest air here and smell the maple and pine trees. A needed break from the busy city. If you ever feel lost, use the signs distributed in the park, there are many of them or simply use goolge maps as the trails arw seen on it”

“Long 12 kilometer trail from LSCR parking lot to the lake viewpoint, best accessed by bike, or a long but relatively easy hike as trail is paved. This is where the drinking water for Metro Vancouver partly comes from and a short trail off to the right will lead you to an old iron bridge from which you can view the dam that holds the lake water back. Wonderful views of the lake and surrounding mountains.”

“We did this in August and it was a tough hike, took 14 hours round trip but so worth it!!! What amazing views and the lake at the top is great for a swim!!”
