“I always enjoy dining here! It is quite the experience if you are looking for one! Such a cute and quaint place with their friendly and personable staff members (who know how to crack jokes at just the right time!) I always leave feeling full of amazing food and wanting to go back, just as I step down the stairs. Lol. Definitely recommend this place if you are looking for good food, a calm atmosphere, and/or just somewhere cozy to enjoy a coffee looking at the sea. Oh! And their IN-HOUSE-MADE Jam is literally to die for! So good! And when the berry season is good, they sell it to customers! How amazing! Honestly, it's just the best place I've been yet. I have never had to wait in line in the handful of times I've been so far (bound to increase as time goes on) and the tables are always clean, just like the floors and everything else. A well maintained joint. I never feel as if I've spent too much for my plate; the portions are darn big! And so freakin tasty!! Drooling just thinking about their dishes! If you haven't hit up Edie Rae's Cafe, then you have not yet experienced the whole power of Powell River ❤️🔥”

“I grew up in Powell River and always wanted to take my kids to the Patricia Theatre. I did on my last trip back. It was great. Hadn’t changed at all from the 1980s and I hear it’s now the oldest movie theatre in Canada. When I was a kid there was a nice older man that would play the pipe organ at the front of the theatre before the movie started. Sadly he’s passed away but everything is still there although it’s not played anymore. I was amazed at how nothing had changed at all. It’s like stepping back in time. Downside is when we arrived we were told they didn’t take credit card but to their credit they said I could bring cash by later and they gave me the cash to buy tickets and popcorn and I paid them back later in the day. You don’t see that kind of service or trust very often anymore. Can’t recommend it enough while in PR.”

“Been told by a few people they have the best pizza in Powell River. My first pizza was solid. Tasty and traditional sauce that was well seasoned and neutral/mild in heat. Fresh toppings and overall a well balanced pizza. They charge a couple bucks more, but not unreasonable for the quality especially when the 2 for 1 discount works for your order. A single large pickup special would bring me back more often. I'll definitely be ordering again to explore their specialty pizzas. Thanks”

“I first met Joseph McLean when he was a young lad fresh out of school from his computer studies. At that time, I was the GIS Technician for the Sliammon Treaty Society, stages 4-6 (aprox 15-year process). Joseph was hired for technical support for the mapping dept., and I had to wonder if this very young man knew what he had gotten himself into. With his knowledge and professionalism, he quickly became an asset and proved he was the person for the job, and age was just a number. His skills expanded to other departments, and then onto other entities within our nation. With his honesty and keen desire to help people with their technical issues, whether it be: building a custom tower; fixing them; data analysis, and an all-round great techie, makes me a customer for life. He was also extremely helpful with the covid pandemic by starting a group for our town called Qathet Covid-19 Awareness. Many of us checked this out almost daily to get the latest information that Joseph was sharing with us…FREE OF CHARGE!! All he asked was to maybe buy him a cup of coffee, which many of us did. With confidence, I recommend Joseph McLean to be your computer techie!!”

Took our order quickly and followed up during and after our meal to ensure everything was good. Now the food. The club sandwich was the best I've ever had! The side fries were perfect too! If you're looking for great mechanics, local knowledge of the trails, quick turnaround on service, great bike brands and the occasional shop dog greeting; then this is your spot. TAWS is THE bike shop in Powell River and is worth checking out when you're in the neighbourhood!
