“The Whales and Wilderness trip with Spirit of the West Adventures was one of the most memorable trips we’ve ever taken. We were there both as guests and to help capture the experience on camera, to convey the experience in an interactive 360° Virtual Tour, videos, photos, and aerial drone footage. The glamping experience was next level, with a hot tub that had stunning ocean views, beautiful canvas tents with comfortable beds, outdoor showers, and a Robinson Crusoe-style dining area. The food and wine were also top-notch. But what really made the experience were the amazing guides and staff, and the incredible access to wildlife viewing from the kayaks. We saw all kinds of wildlife such as humpback whales, orcas, dolphins, sea lions, seals, and eagles. I highly recommend Spirit of the West Adventures for anyone looking for an unforgettable outdoor adventure.”

“Our full day kayaking experience with Bill as a guide was absolutely amazing, we could not have asked for a more knowledgeable and friendly guide. While putting safety first at all times, we were able to have up close encounters with humpback wales, seals, otters, bald eagles, different starfishes, lots of rare seabirds, not to mention a jumping salmon that almost fell on our laps in the kayak. Bill was very generous at sharing lots of interesting information on the various marine life we saw. We first stopped for a delicious lunch (including dessert with fresh picked berries and whipped cream, miam!) and then in a lovely cove for swimming. He made us feel welcome, comfortable and safe while adapting the trip to our desire of exploring a great deal while covering a fair bit of distance. The view of the mountains in the backdrop were absolutely breathtaking, we could not have asked for more! See you next summer, we sure hope to be back.”

“We weren't able to go inside as it was closed while we were there, but the totem and house poles were amazing to see and there was a video screen experience available outside that was fascinating. There are also some petroglyphs there and down the street a large canoe was being restored. Well worth going.”

“Beautiful park, with long rocky beaches covered in drift wood. Big field near parking lot in middle of spit is perfect for sports. Restrooms in a number of spots. Good trails for walking and running.”

“Went in June. Sooo beautiful. Lagoon side wasn't busy. Great if you paddle board or kayak. Beginner area or great for kids swimming. The other side is the ocean view. A wharf and picnic tables around to have lunch.”

“Thanks for our tour Lily! Incredible knowledgeable local youth who toured our group through their mapping exhibit. There was so much information about the island, from the Klahoose and other coast Salish nations to the more recent histories. We really appreciated the knowledge and the pace. They also have an awesome book section!”

“One of the nicest campsites I've been to. Private, out of the way but still easily car accessible (no 4x4 required). Staff were friendly, too. An easy walk to the beach with great views and sandy spots to rest. Water said to boil it, but washrooms (outhouses) were clean. As other reviewers mentioned, some of the sites had average privacy between neighbouring sites. They did plant ferns and shrubs and they're starting to grow in, and soon the sites will be very nicely private, but they are by no means bad right now.”

“A large quiet anchorage with about 40ft depth and good holding ground. Good hiking spots up to a lake that is pleasant to swim in. Excellent fishing and prawning nearby.”

“Beautiful location anchored here in a 42 foot sailboat for 3 nights . The water was warm and we were able to swim right off the boat. The walk to the lake is definitely an adventure having to boulder some rocks but definitely worth it! The waterfalls are also gorgeous and so fun to under a raging waterfall that is warm!”
