David had the special burger of the day, also great. Tetley tea, which is good. Important to me the brand of tea Coffee was very nice as well. Love the ambiance! The Christmas decorations were lovely. Pretty simple looking from the outside but a great experience overall. If we lived here, we would return again and again. Our kind of place!”

“This was a reasonable meal in this small town. It was pretty quiet when we dined very early evening, but the staff were friendly and they had a good IPA available as well as a non-alcoholic beer. My wife had the blackened haddock which she said tasted good (we didn't know what to expect from the description but it wasn't blackened in colour in any way). However, her accompanying fries were only lukewarm (she wanted the fish and wasn't bothered about the fries). I had a vegetarian pizza, which was nice. A reasonable meal for what seems like a reasonable price around here.”

“Americanized or Canadian Chinese Food brings memories of the first Chinese immigrants who came to work on the railroads in 1880's and stranded due to immigration blockades and lack of employment opportunities they opened laundries or restaurants. This type of cooking takes local ingredients and re-creates a fusion- what is modern day gastronomy. This type of food is long gone in big cities but Charlie's Place gives you a sense of nostagia at a great price- my sweet and sour chicken balls transported me back to my early days in New York City who loved Chinese food.”

“Travelling with siblings on a road trip down memory lane this fall. On our first stop in Digby, we had heard that the meals at this place were fantastic so want to check them out ourselves. Very fortunately we got in without a reservation and I’ll tell you we were not disappointed in the atmosphere, wonderful service and first rate seafood we experienced. The scallop trio and lobster rolls ewe snarfed to wash them down were the best we’ve ever had. You won’t be disappointed… of course that is unless you forgot to make a reservation. 🤗”

The chipotle Benedict eggs weren't bad either, but they didn't taste like Chipotle. Overall, it's not bad for the price but the quality of the food could definitely improve. “Found this place from Google, and it turned out to be a great little hole in the wall! We came in with 6 people, and there was just one person cooking, so we were expecting the food to take a bit longer but it was only 20-30 minutes! The food was made from fresh, quality ingredients, that were cooked to order. All of the meals were very tasty and very reasonably priced. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area!”

“Our second time eating here and this experience was as good as the last. Pizza was excellent and was baked in a pizza oven, some of the best I have ever eaten. Staff are always very friendly and welcoming and we're knowledgeable about peanut allergies as my girlfriends is very severe, she felt very safe eating there. Restaurant is clean and tidy and the prices are very reasonable. We decided to go for a drive but our main reason for travelling an hour and half was to go here and eat. Great menu as well! We will be back!”

“I ate here last night and was completely blown away by every single thing we ordered, and our server was excellent also. We actually couldn’t pick our favourite part of the meal because everything was so good! I started with one of their delicious mocktails (thank you for having non-alcoholic options!) and then we got the mussels as an appetizer. The broth was unbelievable! Our mains were the risotto with added scallops, and the pasta feature which was a cannelloni with mushrooms. We shared both, and they were both amazing! For dessert, we were intrigued by the homemade ice cream - we got the pistachio cookie ice cream sandwich and the feature basil blackberry ice cream with brownie chunks on top. Again, absolutely blown away! The blackberry basil ice cream may have been the best ice cream I’ve ever had (I bought a tub to take home, which was a huge container for a very reasonable $5). We can’t wait to go back and try the pizza next time!”

“Awesome restaurant, awesome people! Arrived on Monday . . . Lucky us . . . The restaurant is closed Tuesday and Wednesday. This was our first time here. We chose Weiner Schnitzel ($23) and Hunter Schnitzel ($27). Both were cooked to perfection! Spatzel (a German pasta-type side dish) was also awesome). Would have preferred red cabbage, but the sauerkraut was fine. Doesn't get better than this! We also splurged for a piece of Black Forest Cake ($9), and having had the same in Germany, on more than a few occasions, I can say that there is nothing that comes even close to this!! Absolutely awesome. And to make our evening even more enjoyable, there was live music that just added to the ambiance. Nice! This is simply an outstanding restaurant in every respect. Highly recommend!”

“We were blown away with our meal. We ordered a 1/2 rack of ribs with a side salad. They offered to split it on 2 plates and we were shocked when the food came. The portions were huge! For just $22 (Fri special price) we had a huge meal and took some home. Highly recommend! For a group of 4 you could get a full rack with 1 side for $42 and then order 2-3 more sides and you'd have dinner for 4 at $15 a person. Can't beat that!! We had the bourbon BBQ sauce but there were 3 more options. Can't wait to try them all!”
