“This is a great museum, made greater by the enthusiasm of the staff. I had a great tour there, loved the different sections and the old courthouse items. The layout is nice and there were lots of interesting displays to be found. The space also has a nice geneaology center, with binders of names for tracing back.”

“Cash only admission! Very small place, but very informative and friendly staff ready to educate further or answer any questions. Clean bathroom, and some great local recommendations from the ladies working there. Learned a ton about different shells and pesky and predators to shellfish!”

“We were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed this museum. We attended a potato museum in Blackfoot, ID. And, we were thinking this one would be pretty much along the same lines. Boy! We were wrong. This potato museum goes into depth about the history of the potato, how the Eurporeans 'discovered' it, how it is planted and seeded today, how it is harvested and the various kinds of diseases and pest that can infect the potato. The videos were professonally done, and we enjoyed watching them. There is a section that has a lot of old farming equipment used to plant and harvest the potato. The added bonus was a bit of history for the local area. All in all we were very impressed. Highly recommend this museum.”

“Short gravel trail with a few informational signs. No roots but there are some steps. Nice that they include it with visit cost since the exhibits and house don’t take that long.”

“A magnificent view, though a very high climb on steep stairs to get there. A great beach next to it to walk across with a sand bar next to it (easily accessible, especially further down the beach). Quiet as well, with some cool rocks and the water wasn't very cold at all.”

“Interesting museum in a charming part of town. We were in PEI for the day as part of our Cruise, walked by and checked it out.”

“We didn't know what to expect from the tour, but we really loved the look of the building and thought it was worth checking out. We got a tour from Hannah and she was such a great guide -- she had so much interesting info about the history and architecture of the house, as well as being super enthusiastic and engaging (we particularly liked the guessing games for all of the old gadgets in the house). If you have 30-40 minutes to spare, I highly recommend checking it out.”

“This was a hidden gem . The the young gentlemen that we had that gave us the tour and also served us our food our was great. This is a little historic site that shares its place with a restaurant. It's a very small menu but it's yummy we had almost everything on the menu lol . When we went there was Acadian meat pie which is similar to a chicken pot pie ( made with pork sometimes) I have fish, cake and beans , corn chowder. They even had grilled cheese for fussy adult or kids lol . When waiting for your food you can go dress up in . Costumes go play with toys from the day or even make a dipped candle ( cost extra) . After yummy dinner they had delicious desserts! We got the gingerbread cake and the chocolate cake and both were very good. Then after we took a a tour. The tour itself is not very long but it's very cool and very interesting. Meal and tour are two different things paid separately. There are also walking trails ( unfortunately we did not have time to go walking on them ) recommend to bring bug spray if you do go walking .”

“This beach is pure awesomeness. The water was a little chilly at 11°C [51°F] one day and 13°C [55°F] another day in the 1st week of July, but if you go for a short jog to get your heart rate up before going in for a plunge in the "river" when the tide is rising, you will have a heck of a lot of fun, just watch out for occasional jellyfish. I LOVED jumping into the "tidal river." After my 1st plunge, I was use to the water temperature and stayed in as long as I didn't need to get out to chase down one of my kids. As a jogger, I and my 4 year old, really enjoyed running barefoot down the sandy beach. You have to jog in dry sand to make it "sing" but moist sand is much less taxing to run on. My kids and spouse loved the beach too; I got a 7, 4, and 2 year old - we didn't let the kids jump in the "tidal river" as they are not good enough swimmers yet. My 4 year old and 2 year old appeared like they wanted to jump in, so keep a close eye on your little ones. My 4 year old tried going up the dunes, so watch your kids for that as we are not supposed to go up the dunes, the "grass" near the dunes is sharp and I think it slightly cut my foot when I was grabbing my kid from ascending the dunes. My spouse said it was one of the best beaches she had ever been to; and I feel the same. Basin Head is up there with a beach we went to on the archeapelago of Okinawa, just South of Japan's mainland, when we took a ferry from Naha to a tiny archipelago island with excellent snorkeling. There must have been 5 to 7 lifeguards on duty. Which is good for kids or overconfident swimmers. There is a place "up the hill" where you can get food like pokè bowls, beer, poutine, etc.. if you get hungry, at reasonable prices and with a good view of the beach/cliffs and in the shade.”

“A great little home to visit. Less famous than Green Gables but gracious grounds and friendly staff to show you around. Great story of a family that supported the island economy. Didn't get a chance to try lunch but we bought some of the home made jams and preserves. The gardens grow native plant species from PEI. A nice relaxing visit for the family.”

“A great place to learn about the pioneers, who settled here at P.E.I.. The buildings are as original as they come. The reenactments answer questions to the best of our knowledge of the past. A great place of history that needs to be preserved and protected for our future generations!!”

“My husband and I came here in 2019 on our honeymoon so it was suiting we brought our baby girl to one of our favourite places on the island! A place where I feel connected to my dad and our shared love for classic cars! In 2019, we had the honour of meeting Kevin but in 2020 he sadly passed away. This trip, we had the honour of meeting his son Greg who was so generous and let us in to tour the museum before it opened for the season! If you enjoy antiques and classic cars, this is a MUST SEE on the island!”

“I’ve increased my rating on this one. It is one of the few lighthouses you can enter and go up in this area of PEI. If you climb all the way to the top it offers a good view but very small area and tricky climb so beware. The bottom floor offers a few historic summaries to read through and you can ask questions of the attendant who knows some background history. This one specifically was operational until quite recently in 2012.”
