“Fresh oysters, fresh crabs, an amazing view, and alcohol. What more could you ask for? Nothing, that's what. For sure go here and shuck a dozen oysters while watching otters play in the water. You won't regret it.”

“We were visiting friends on San Juan Island and we took their boat over to Olga and walked up to the restaurant. We were a large group so we walked around the gallery while we waited for lunch. Everything on the menu is made from scratch and provided locally. It was fresh and flavorful and very filling. Breakfast was served all day so we had a mix of that and lunch items. I loved that the kitchen was open and you could watch the work.”

“Hands down one of the best gas stations you'll ever see. Very impressive wine selection - better than most grocery stores. International candy. Dispensary. Great magnets.”

“The food was delicious. Jeffrey the bartender provided great customer service. He made an amazing twist on a Old Fashion. Highly recommend.”

“Very helpful staff. Good food selection. Clean bathroom. Seems to be the only place to get gas when I'm in this area.”

“This is a gem. Truly wildly delicious. The tomatoes came from their own property. All produce was as good as it gets. Can't believe the quality of the chefs on this little island, truly remarkable.”

“Ahi poke was a good surprise, but the fish tacos was quite a disappointment for me. Service was good, views were beautiful. Also I had been tempted to go hear because of items listed on a menu while staying at the Rosario Resort, however the items were not on the menu once actually viewing the restaurant menu. Not enough seafood! They have a couple wrinkles to iron out, and have faith that they will.”

“Disappointing experience... bus boys carried the day with welcoming and friendly service but our waiter was missing in action. He never once came to ask how our meal was, if he had we could have shared the Mixed Greens salad was barely passable. It had the greens but they were extremely stingy with the other ingredients (carrots, beets, olives, and walnuts) which were the reason we ordered the salad in the first place. Fell far short of our expectations.”

“Simple food done really well. Fish and chips, veggie burger, salmon burger, grilled cheese all very good. Also had a wonderful dessert (see photo). Friendly atmosphere, but under 21 not allowed (it's a Tavern...).”

“Lovely! This bakery had great coffee and wonderful baked goods. My croissant was a bit on the tough side but it looks like it was just a bit too browned. Would definitely visit again to try their other offerings.”

“Most of the reviews are spot on. Yes, this is a pretentious place but that shouldn’t surprise you when you show up if you did your research. We sat outside on Friday night at 8:30 and it was nice weather and I would say the food was better than good but not excellent. Plates are small but they tell you 4-5 bites so again don’t be surprised. It was the best pizza I’ve ever had to be honest as the crust was thin, sauce was great and cheese was just enough. Our server Spencer was attentive, knowledgeable and had some great wit. I will say the woman who checked us in was a bit rude. If you show up early, even one minute, (we came at 8:26 for our 8:30 and she asked us to take a walk a come back at 8:30...) you will have to wait till it’s exactly your time. Again if you read all the reviews though this shouldn’t surprise you. I’m giving it a 4/5 bc nothing was bad, everything was predictable based on the comments and the food was authentic and good.”

“The quality of ingredients and care of technique to rival many tasting menu experiences on the west coast, stripped of any pretension and at a comparatively much more affordable cost. Book the tasting menu and show up with an open mind and you’ll leave happy and satiated. The owners/operators Jay and Jocelyn seem like wonderful people who really care about their guests’ experience. It’s not fast or easy to get to Orcas Island, but it’s worth it for Aelder alone. They are doing something risky and special here.”

“Best breakfast in my life! Healthy never tasted this good before. A prefect combination of crunchy, savory and creamy goodness. Please open a location in West Seattle!”

“Lunch was delicious, service was lacking. The weather is great outside, no reason the outside tables can't be used. And for some reason the hosts and other staff cannot talk to guests about anything. Apparently only waiters are authorized by the big wigs at corporate to interact with customers. "Your waiter will be with you shortly to answer that"”

“Absolutely delicious. And superb service. We walked in with a party of three, had a 10 min wait for a table during which we enjoyed the bartender and cocktails. Tab was transferred to table without asking. Rooftop patio seating for dinner was beautiful and all three entrees and multiple apps were great. Squid ink tagliatelle w halibut and roe, gnocchi w local greens and chicken, and local clams in a white sauce. Definitely 5* for us. Can’t see how this isn’t at least a 4.5 overall. Every server we dealt with was prompt, pleasant, and knowledgeable. Highly recommend it.”

“I've been coming here for years and it is consistently great pizza and salad! They have a good beer selection and also provide a vegan cheese option for those who cannot eat dairy (allergy). A very cozy environment with murals on the wall and a nice patio setting where you can watch planes come in for landing at the nearby airstrip.”

“We celebrate my birthday here. Their hospitality was great. Thank you for that! Cocktail and starters were so good. Pasta and sauce were okay, however I expected more than that. Also, the portion was smaller than classic Italian portions.”

“Excellent standard array of Japanese cuisine as well as some amazing house specialties. Our group had many items off the menu and were very pleased with everything. Amazing service as well... Absolute must”

“There are times when it’s necessary to share an experience with the general public and this is one of those moments. Let me preface by saying that I have eaten thousands of burgers in nearly every state and across many countries. I would like to consider myself a bit of an aficionado. Normally I judge a burger in the quality of the meat, cheese, and bun and find that over dressed burgers diminish the meal. I ordered the lamb burger from cask and schooner in Friday harbor. It is the most amazing burger I have ever eaten. Outrageously good lamb meat well seasoned and prepared. What must be French feta as it’s creamy and not overly sharp. Perhaps one of the best brioche buns I have ever tried. And some majestic cocktail of mint aioli and pickled peppers. Normally I would frown upon this much fanfare on a burger but this is a piece of art. If you claim to love burgers run to this place. I may have been rendered unable to ever eat a beef burger again which I understand may sound like heresy. And for full disclosure this was the second time I tried the burger in the off chance they got lucky once. The second one was every bit as great as the first. I only wish they allowed more than 5 stars.”

“We came in this evening for my birthday, and had the best time. The service was incredible, and the food was so delicious!! Well done!!”

“Service was just a little off, but the food was good. There was a bit of a wait, though there were things to look at as we waited. The food was good, the hollandaise sauce was a little bland, but overall the Benedict was good, and the potatoes accompanying them were really good! My husband highly recommends the sausage, biscuits and gravy, said they were the best he's had. Would go back, but only after exploring the other options around to sample all of the options.”

“Such a lovely place. We stayed in the historic part with two twins. Everything was SUPER clean. Same for the shared bathrooms, freshly painted maintained and cleaned. Very comfortable beds too, the right kind of firm in my book. As part of the historic section the insulation isn't the best and we could hear people. I wore earplugs and slept great. Will definitely stay again. Thank you!”

“Restaurant on the back side of the store building. There is a bike rack at the back of the parking lot; it's visible from deck tables. Menu selection was fine for lunch, even though some of the items weren't available when we were there. My classic burger was quite tasty; done correctly. The salad was fresh, crispy, with just right amount of dressing. Service was friendly, attentive, helpful, with a big smile. The pork that was in the smoker smelled great. Bummer we couldn't have any. We wanted a place to rest and get some food on this quieter part of the island, and we were pleasantly surprised. Definitely worth a visit.”

“Hand made noodles anchor perfectly cooked veggies, meats, and eggs, in spectacular noodle bowls. Sometimes I have an equally well-crafted sandwich- the kimchi meatball version is my favorite. Josh Ratza is chef who puts his soul into his food, using quality local and regionally sourced ingredients. The atmosphere is casual, funky, and friendly. I look forward to a chance to eat there and at other Lopez places any time I have chance.”

“What can you expect from a restaurant named after a constellation in the Northern Sky on an island of 29.81 square miles? How about the best dining experience! We were there on March 31. It is one of the best dinners in our memory. In the end, we all wanted to come back for more even this place is 3000 miles away from the East coast and you had to take hours of driving and ferry from Seattle to here. But it's worth it! We especially love their "broth of land and sea". The soup is rich in flavor and it brought up the warmth from early and sea. I also love their 24-hour carrot and the pork belly was unique and the most delicious dish. Don't miss it.”

“We ordered food and got our order wrong at first. It was fixed, and pretty decent food. The hotel rooms were clean and nice. Pretty basic, but no problem. Beautiful view. Also a short, beautiful walk to the village.”
