“This park is where I'd go if I wanted to just sit down and read a book and enjoy a coffee. You can't see what's inside the park until you enter through the gates. And enter a nice big green lawn and paths that lead you too various spaces in the park that used to be the filberg property now a municipal heritage site. There are many different types of trees and plants. And for sale to small bouquets. Various buildings to look around and explore but I was there when it was closed. There is a small outdoor restaurant right near the water and the view as you can see in the photo. I did see a couple of deer grazing. And heard many quacks. Very good for kids to explore during the day. There is a petting zoo!”

I just wish there were even more people walking through them because my dogs are very sociable, with other dogs and people. (Watch out for snakes and bears!) have a good walk!”

“The small wood bridge that has a creek under it. This creek is a salmon habitat. You can protect it by not letting your dogs run through it. The sign is not in the best location so that is why I thought this might be helpful. A nice trail beside a creek surrounded by trees. Ocean views of the ocean with some drift logs.”

This is a very popular recreational fishing spot with a convenient boat launch nearby. It is possible to see whales & other sea life in these waters. The restrooms were clean & there was plenty of parking for our group as well as other visitors. We would definitely come here again!”

So many birds: saw cassin's vireo and ruby crowned kinglets, purple martins by the water, lots of rufous hummingbirds by the thick groves of salmonberry and wild currants. Lots of little bridges and boardwalks interspersed.”

Lighthouse RV Park

Address: 8256 Island Hwy S, Fanny Bay, BC V0R 1W0, Canada

Campground Lodging Park Point of interest Establishment

“Had a relaxing, weeklong stay at Lighthouse RV. The park was quiet and management very friendly. Was able to reserve a site and pay in full online so that I could just roll up and park. Super convenient. Yes, there is an oyster farm next door but we genuinely didn't find it much of a nuisance. There was a pile of oyster shells by the farm, but rotate your body 90 degrees and you will find beautiful views of Denman island and the surrounding waters. To be fair, the prices are comparable to other parks in the area, and some of the upkeep is a bit lackluster. But hey, it was really quiet for the entire week, which included August long weekend, so I'll take it. Wifi worked great, washrooms and showers were clean. Laundry available.”

Kin Beach Provincial Park

Address: 1712 Astra Rd, Comox, BC V9M 4B7, Canada

Campground Lodging Park Point of interest Establishment Tourist attraction

“Stayed here again after loving it so much. Unfortunately had to witness the lovely couple who run this gorgeous place get yelled at and accused of untrue things. They couldn't even get a word in. Showed up at check in time to my campsite, and there was a party still there. Check out time for them was extended as a kindness, and for them to yell and use unkind words infront of myself and other campers around were just appalled. It was a wedding party I understand, it's sad to see them be so un grateful and entitled to treat the managers like this. I was displaced and had to take another site due to this inconvenience. Management had to apologize to all campers around for the wedding party's behavior. Please don't believe these 1 star negative reviews all within the day, as this is an untrue picture painted on this beautiful space & people. Beautiful campground and park. Extremely well kept by lovely people. Such a pleasure to stay here and sleep by the ocean.”

Rosewall Creek Provincial Park

Address: BC-19, Fanny Bay, BC V0R 1W0, Canada

“Great walk along the creek. A few swimming holes, cool trees, little waterfall.... mostly easy walk but some roots & rocks to get across small creek (but difficult unless mobility issues)”

Cape Lazo RV Park

Address: 685 Lazo Rd, Comox, BC V9M 3X2, Canada

Campground Lodging Park Rv park Point of interest Establishment

“Clean tidy & well maintained site. Nice green area & children's playground in the centre. Individual sites varied in size & privacy. WiFi excellent & included in rental fee. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is that looking at the website & the site map, we expected an ocean view, but that misconception was my fault. That said the beach was very close by & unspoilt.”
