“Excellent bikes in great condition at a fair price - helmet included! But his service went above and beyond the call of duty for me yesterday. I was running late returning from the lighthouse and trying to get back to the ship before it left at 4pm (you're technically supposed to be there a half hour before they leave). I was already exhausted and dehydrated so I couldn't peddle as fast as at the start. So I'm racing back as fast as I could and it looked like I would miss the boat by a few minutes and have to stay the night on the island (and rent a cottage) But the owner must have anticipated my situation. He met me on the road as I reached his place and told me to keep pedaling to the dock so I could buy my ticket. He said he would pick up the bike later. Well thank God he did that or I'd have missed the boat for sure. I got my ticket and ran to the boat. I got on just in time seconds before 4:00pm. They radioed in right after to start lowering the front of the ship and departed soon after. I was by far the last person onboard. So what a nice thing for him to do. He made no money doing that but he saved me probably over $100 to rent a cottage or stay at a B&B. So rent your bikes here!”

They were very helpful and managed to help me get a whole new bike that was worth a lot more then what I originally paid... for free. “Uncle Jacob's is a great place to visit if you're looking for a wide selection of bikes and fast and effective service. From what I've read, some people on here either aren't willing to have a little patience, don't want to take in second-hand bikes, or are perhaps unhappy with the service. “Bike service = highly recommended. Three noteworthy things about my dealings with the bike service guys here. First, they were extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. Second, they didn’t charge me to put the tire on my rim (because despite my all efforts, I just couldn’t do it). And third, despite my proposing the idea of just buying a new tire altogether, they said I’d still get the rest of this season out of my current tire, and that I could come talk to them about a new tire come winter. In other words, they had the opportunity to sell me a tire—I was clearly ready to buy one—and yet insisted this wasn’t necessary. I appreciate the honesty. These guys are in it for the right reasons.”

They took the time to get me the bike that perfectly suited me. And the prices were better than every other bike shop I went to. The level of service they gave me was amazing. “This was my first time visiting Bicycle Planet. My sons brake cable broke on his bike, so on the way to search for a new brake system we stopped into this shop. I produced all the pieces we had and he happily assisted and informed us that all we needed to replace was a piece of the cable. He proceeded to give instructions on how to fix it and low and behold my son is riding his bike again without shaving his shoes down. I'm sure we would have ended up purchasing a whole new system that wasn't required. Service was great and very friendly! I will recommend this shop to others.
