“This is my 2nd stay at driftwood in 2 years and I absolutely love this place! Beautiful views, amazing memories. Showers definitely need an upgrade though. (Shower tiles were literally falling off the wall while I showered 😭)”

“If you love clocks and museums this is a place to see! This is a typical small town museum. An older gentleman runs it, when asked about being open, he went on to describe that if it’s close we should call the number and he will come from home and open it up. He had some much love for the place. As most small town museums, Explained a lot of history of the museum and about the different styles of clocks. How long are you going to spend there? If your the type to read and embrace everything, There is enough items to keep you busy for a couple hours. All in all, I recommend.”

“Amazing place. People here are extremely helpful and friendly. This is small town service at its finest. Thanks Ken for the ice cream, for the seed, for the milk and Pepsi and for the friendly banter all the time!”

“Great park! Beautiful lake with a really good beach. Stayed in one of the rustic cabins and we all loved it. Only negatives are the extremely squeaky beds and no cell service where the cabins are located (at least on Bell/Telus network). Cabins come with a canoe and firewood. Would highly recommend this park, and in particular the cabins.”

“Non-operating park, so there are no staff and few amenities. Park on the road and the beach is only about 5 minutes walk. Really nice beach, can get surprisingly busy. Not as good for small children, because of the walk from the road and it's only shallow near the shore. It's worth noting that there are no washrooms.”

“Oh my goodness!!! Such a wonderful experience. Breanna and Corinne are obviously passionate about their animals and their care. These lovely ladies gave us an amazing morning full of education and fun. I got to hug alpacas!!!! Walk-ins welcome for tours or just to sit and enjoy the serenity. They also do parties!”

“If you want a nice view of the Ottawa River, this park is a nice place to walk. It’s paved and smooth and not challenging at all. It is also generally not busy at all- at least by my standards as someone from Kitchener. There is a nice playground area too for kids.”
Address: 63 Colborne Rd, Petawawa, ON K8H 2X3, Canada
“I enjoyed a self guided tour of this museum with a group of friends. We all live in Pembroke, Ontario, which is approximately 30 mins away. Some exhibits you can step right up to and touch. Others are protected behind glass. There was a very comprehensive timeline of Petawawa's contributions to every major campaign from ww1 to present. When I was there a section of the museum was being updated and therefore was not available for viewing, so I do intend to go back, but I wouldn't have noticed a significant hole in the timeline if I had not seen the signs stating that this section was not open. Not that I'm a history buff, so perhaps someone who's knowledge is more comprehensive in Canada's military history and actions could have seen what was missing.”

“It was a gorgeous day and a hot one. This cause most of the ice and snow to melt. Luckily, we were prepared with waterproof boots and shoes. It was a really nice shaded walk with a really nice view of the river. People here have been mostly respectful but a few have left their doggie bags or simply have not picked up after their dogs. Otherwise, the park is really nice. There is a playground right by it which makes it even more family friendly. Note that parking is limited.”

“Wonderful park full of many things to do. Take a walk/bike ride throught a scenic paved trail, sit and view the scenery on one of the many beaches placed throughout the park. Walk down the pier to stunning views of boats coming in and out of the marina. Kids can play on the climbers, and throw stones into the Ottawa River from the shore. Beautiful trees surround this lovely park, along with many picnic tables to sit and eat! Enjoy!”

“Nice little park to walk through. Quiet, peaceful. If you bring dogs watch out for burrs, our fuzzy companion got covered in them just by sticking his head into one of the bushes.”

“Nice variety museum. Displays are outside and inside. There is the main building, an old school house, church and outdoor display. Do be aware though to call first and make sure they will be open. They close at random times to accommodate parties and their staff.”

“Very cute little experience, we were taken out to the fields by a tractor (it was very dusty so don't wear white) and told to pick in certain rows, which had some variety. Lots of berries still on the bushes, and didn't take long to fill a basket. Not too buggy. They had water out on a table for you to have. The gift shop had many nice goodies and baked goods. Overall a nice little afternoon! Blueberries taste delicious.”

“A Worthwhile Little Antique Museum My son and I paid them a visit few summers ago (2019) during our camping trip to Bonnechere Park. It's more like a place where you see a bunch of antique collections dating from the late 1800's and early 1900's. It's a donations only entrance fee so you will not expect to see exhibits like in a city museum, but still worth to see. Speaking about antiques from the early 20th century, my son spotted something unusual, a computer from the 70's with actual super-large floppy disks. Something quite unusual, modern but obsolete. BTW: We liked the "Swinging Bridge" on the Bonnechere R.”
