“Went on a sunset tour, Tim was a great guide. We saw lots of wildlife and Tim was able to tell us what everything was and was also knowledgeable of the animals behavior. I highly recommend the sunset tour. I got lots of great photos and would upload some but dropped my phone into the harbor when we got back. Nice group of people to work with. One of the managers (Cary) met us there the next morning with a diving mask to borrow so I could try and get it back. Unfortunately I didn't retrieve it.”

“We stayed in the Cannery Inn. Great views and clean, but the walls are so thin we could hear the people next to us snoring! We felt like we were staying in a cardboard box.”

“If you are thinking of biking the San Juan Islands with an outfitter, these are your people. This is a local group and this is all they do. That means you get people who know and love this area, and a trip at a much more affordable rate than the others we price. We went on a 4 day camping trip in August. It was fabulous!! Our guide was a delightful ball of energy and a fantastic cook. The food was fantastic, they really read our bios and planned meals accordingly. Most clean eating vacation I have ever had. The camp grounds were very nice, tents and sleeping bags that were provided were great. We loved biking around the islands, which were stunningly beautiful, and stopping at all the interesting places. The rides were hillier than I anticipated. I could have trained more for them. If I had it to do over again, I would have upgraded to a road bike. Hope to go back again.”

“Fabulous Sunset Sail on Sunday May 26th! The weather cleared to beautiful sunshine and we had both enough wind to be under full sail, and calm at sunset for incredible pictures. The crew was helpful and fun and we would definitely do this again! The last ferry leaves at 10:05pm, so there's time to grab a bite to eat afterwards or pack snacks to eat on the boat. This was awesome!”

“My 14 year old son and I had an amazing time on Maya's boat tour. The boat itself was super clean, comfortable and so much fun to ride on. Captain Alan and April were fantastic guides. Both were friendly, engaging and kept us well informed. We definitely felt safe and trusted that these folks knew exactly what they were doing. I loved being surprised with April's follow up email highlighting our experience and sharing some photos. We would definitely do this again with Maya's Legacy.”

“the crew contacted us 1 hour before departure to let us know a pod of whales have been spotted and asked if there any way we can leave about 1/2 hour early. We did and made the wonderful hour plus journey to where the pod of killer whales was located and stayed with them for more than an hour. After a very satisfying experience we were on our way home when a radio call came in that more whales were sited and we detoured to find more whales. The crew was delightful the boat was excellent and I highly recommended in every way.”

“Excellent trip, super guides that were helpful for things to do around town and very knowledgeable and skilled on the water. Seeing whales isn't a guarantee, so don't go in with the wrong mindset. It pays to be somewhat fit, but if you're any sort of active at all you'll be fine on this trip (but maybe a little sore the next couple days). Included lunch was organic sandwiches and cookies with some fruits and veggies. I'd do this kayaking excursion again in a heartbeat!”

“I highly recommend San Juan Tours!!! My family and I had an amazing experience aboard the Sea Lion for our whale watching tour. Sarah, the naturalist, was enthusiastic, friendly and knowledgeable. She educated us about the local sea animals and took time to answer all our questions. We saw sea lions, seals, and even a bald eagle, but the best part of the day was seeing the Orca whales! It was breathtaking to watch these magnificent creatures swimming in the sea. The Captain did an incredible job of getting us to a great spot to watch them. It was a very memorable day!”

“My wife and I had a wonderful trip. We got to see a bunch of orcas. We even got to see the jumping out of the water and making a huge splash. On the way back, the boat driver took us by a few islands where we saw sea lions, seals, bald eagles, and a whole bunch of goats onshore that became wild after some person brought them over for some failed exotic game hunting island. The boat was clean and the driver did a great job of keeping the trip smooth. We definitely recommend this.”

“Our tour with Ken on 3/29/19 was amazing!! If you want a more personal and private whale watching experience booking a tour with Spirit of the Orca is the way to go! Ken’s boat holds 6 people and is extremely smooth and comfortable to ride in. Ken’s knowledge of the whales in the area is excellent! He knew where the whales were that day and made sure we got there in time to spend over an hour and a half with them! It was an incredible experience! Highly recommend Ken and Spirit of the Orca!”

“Amazing whale watching experience! Captain David and Captain Barbara surely have a great knowledge and experience sailing around San Juan islands. Because of the small number of passengers, the trip can be fully personalized upon agreement with the crew and other guests.”

“We did a tour from Friday Harbor around the island. We had an excellent experience. Our pilot was great at pointing out interesting landmarks and wildlife. The plane appeared well maintained and clean. Our family will remember the experience for a long time to come. Highly recommended. Thanks!”

“This past of the southern end of the island is a must visit. The drive out along Haro Strait and where Puget Sound meets the Juan de Fuca strait is breathtaking. When you round the corner near the lighthouse, you can then see Lopez Island which gives a very different feeling than the wide open west side.”

“The visitors center is nice. I appreciate the historical information available here, which includes info about English Camp. I recommend visiting American Camp before seeing English Camp. There's good info for English Camp that you find at the American Camp visitors center that is not available at English Camp because of the lack of a visitors center. Also, English camp is much nicer and has more to see than does American Camp.”
