“Jen & Monica are friendly, knowledgeable, and so passionate about the work they are doing. Their care and dedication really shines through the wonderful animals they are raising and their delicious pork! They helped us get set up with pigs on our farm and have been so helpful with our own journey as well. We look forward to coming back to the farm and seeing all the unique breeds, as well as sampling more of the amazing products!”

“It was a splendid little tour. It is all by donation, and our tour guide was very insightful. We walked in and were immediately greeted and taken on a tour, no waiting necessary. If you are interested in a little bit of Drayton Valley history and have about 45 min of free time, it's worth a visit !”

“Amazing museum. They have a lot of items with history. Autum, our guide, was super nice and excellent with all explanations. We had a personal tour and it was amazing. “This tiny museum is located just outside main Tobermory. It's steeped in history and dates back nearly 200 years. There is no admission fee but they look forward to donations. Basically it is 2 small buildings - one is the old school and the other is the log cabin they stayed in. Note that the log cabin was situated in main Tobermory ( on rent i believe )but was relocated when the landlord wanted his property back. It was brought to the current address and reconstructEd- nearly 50 years back. The main school building is full of relics and stuff you probably have never seen. It was actually a school back in the day - there is a bell outside which was rung to call kids into school. You need to go and see the history in that building as it's hard to explain. Old attendance registers along with cursive hand writing sheets are there for all to see. Not sure if they have heritage status as yet but seriously think that the appropriate authorities need to look into. The 2 ladies there were really knowledgeable and friendly - go see the appliances they have and how Canada managed back then. Parking is available on site and its free. We need to understand and appreciate the resilience of people from that age - how they learnt and adapted to the times. For example back then no corporates made butter - it was made in house using age old appliances and techniques. See the pictures I have posted and you will understand.”

“A wonderful view of both the Ottawa and Gatineau sides of the Ottawa River. At sunset this spot is particularly wonderful. The benches allow for some rest after the walk to get there, albeit short, and you can read some information about the surrounding area. Take a few nice pictures because the opportunities are plenty!”

“The Whales and Wilderness trip with Spirit of the West Adventures was one of the most memorable trips we’ve ever taken. We were there both as guests and to help capture the experience on camera, to convey the experience in an interactive 360° Virtual Tour, videos, photos, and aerial drone footage. The glamping experience was next level, with a hot tub that had stunning ocean views, beautiful canvas tents with comfortable beds, outdoor showers, and a Robinson Crusoe-style dining area. The food and wine were also top-notch. But what really made the experience were the amazing guides and staff, and the incredible access to wildlife viewing from the kayaks. We saw all kinds of wildlife such as humpback whales, orcas, dolphins, sea lions, seals, and eagles. I highly recommend Spirit of the West Adventures for anyone looking for an unforgettable outdoor adventure.”

“Wow! This fall has POWER! couldn’t get anywhere near the base of the fall due to the intense winds it generates, but easily one of the best falls I visited on the west coast. Make sure you have a confident driver navigating, as there are many hairpin turns leading up to the parking lot.”

“Well, it was definitely an experience we won't forget right away. Wasn't quite what we expected, but maybe our expectations were set too high. The place could definitely brush up on a few things. It's advertised as a petting zoo, but there wasn't alot of petting, mostly just explaining about the animals, etc. My 3yr old daughter was mostly enthused about it, she loves all animals, so therefore we could justify a few things. Safety isn't the highest priority, but they do what they can. We live on a farm, so the whole concept of being around animals in close quarters wasn't new to us. Would I recommend this place? Yes, if you're not used to interacting closely with farm animals”

“We had a lovely time here. The price is cheaper on the site than other neighborhood ice cream or souvenirs stores. We enjoyed the chocolate marshmallows and their authentic blueberry wrapped in chocolate. It’s a hot day, and they have blueberry tea, as well as blueberry juice. The chocolate soaps also looked interesting! Friendly and helpful service!”

“Pretty good stop when in the area and in the mood for fruit wines. It's a family operation. Did you know it used to be a dairy farm? Ha ha. How fun is that? And the bluebs cleanse your pallet. Picked this morning on site. Don't forget your wallet!!”

“I highly recommend you visit the Parks Canada Visitor Centre. There is a lot to learn about Canadian geography and history where there is a museum. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They can provide valuable information about places to visit. Another piece of advice you will hear from them is "please don't litter the Parks". And I am repeating this advice since it is a big issue. Keep the Parks clean!!”
