“Friendly welcome from Deborah with lots of helpful information provided on the local area, what to do, where to visit, discounts on local restaurants etc. which was brilliant, and so professional. Well looked after grounds with a communal fire area that is prepared for you in advance by the owners and a walking route signposted to town. Clean facilities too and good WiFi, we were only there for 1 night but no complaints at all.”

“Welcoming, friendly stay from start to finish. Lisa and Vic are great hosts and are creating a unique spot on the Cabot Trail. Cape Breton Island is a one-of-a-kind experience and staying on the beach at Point Cross RV Park captures the best of everything. We especially liked watching the kids next door catch fish right off the beach. We are from Maine and love Atlantic Canada. This RV Park is worth finding. Dottie & Mike”

“We were traveling the Cabot Trail and decided to stop here for our second night. The owner was very friendly and helpful. There has been much work done to revive this campground that had been unused for a number of years. The washrooms are new. The owner is planning to address the issue of water pooling on the floors. The laundry area was clean and we did a load while there. Machines worked great. There was wifi in the laundry area but that was about it. The owner is aware of this issue and trying to extend the range. We did require wifi so we simply went to the laundry room and sat in the chairs provided. This is a pet friendly campground. The washrooms could have been cleaner. Overall, this is a work in progress and has potential to be a great campground.”

“I have stayed at this campground yearly since 2013, except during COVID, riding from Florida and timed to be here for the Wharf Rat MC Rally. The new owners, in place prior to my arrival last year, are demonstrating their commitment making this a very pleasant destination.”

“We absolutely loved the hospitality, location and the campground neighbors! It was our first trip to Nova Scotia and have definitely booked, for longer, next year with Jagger's Point. The environment is very friendly and welcoming for all age groups and family types. There's lots to do on the campground and the surrounding area; we were never disappointed! Thank You to Russ, Lesley and TJ for everything - our trip was phenomenal!”

“Top notch camp ground with great staff. I highly recommend this campground! Good facilities, a nice pool to cool down in and 100% family friendly. I dealt with Nick, the owner, and he was very helpful and friendly.”

“The camp sites are pretty tight together and not overly private. As far as location is concerned, it really can't be beat. However, the bathrooms are not well insulated so they're very cold, very dated and somewhat unkempt. The paint is peeling and chipping on the doors and the hot water takes a very long time to heat up. If you are going for the location? 5 stars. If you're going for privacy? 4 stars. If you're going for the bathroom? 3 stars - at best.”

“We stayed at the A frame. Great location, management were pleasant. Bathrooms were clean . The cabin window was broken, door leaked, the metal roofing flapped with the wind. No printed invoice. I hope the new team and owners fix the place up as they were working on a cabin during the weekend we stayed. Place needs a lot of skilled work. If improvements are made we would go back”

“Visited for the first time with friends who had come a couple years ago and loved it. The sites are smaller and closer together than we are used to at provincial campgrounds, but as we were with two other families we essentially shared the 3 sites. Even though your neighbours are close there was very little noise, everyone was very respectful and as it’s a kid-friendly campground I think most families turn in early. Pool was beautiful, the activities were great for the kids, and the beach down the road was fun to explore. Very little cell service in the area in general (I personally have no problem with this when camping!) but wifi was available by the canteen if needed. Hosts were lovely and friendly and obviously love their work! Will definitely be back!”

“Absolute Gem (close to Inverness) of a campground with its own beach (unsupervised) the beach is a bit of a climb down and up but once you’re down there you’re good. Might find some seaglass down there as well. Will definitely be back. If you’re tenting some sites have some Epic Look offs. The roar of the oceans below and the skies above are extremely scenic. This appears to be a full service campground, with canteen, (ice, firewood, laundry, washrooms, potable water everywhere, rv grounds and shower facilities. Washrooms are somewhat maintained but could be cleaner (soap was not replaced regularly, seats need to be tightened, hot water is boiling hot (no joke will scald you so be careful , especially with kids) and we didn’t see it but felt they could of used a kitchen (since we can’t rinse our dishes off at the hose bibs) to was your dishes in. The main entrance off the street is a hairpin turn and easy to miss. I’m not sure if this is ideal for RV’s but would be nice to have alternate or fixed up area to get down.”

“Best place to stay! Clean, all needs are met regarding kitchen supplies, camping chairs provided and firewood. Great spot for kids to play & paint rocks at the bottom of site. Fishing, biking, hiking near by. Dougie is a great host. Most of all the view is incredible, very special place. Mo, Rob & boys”

“We were so excited to stay in dome #2 for a couple of nights! The views from the deck and dock are beautiful. It's a perfect place to relax as it is so calm and quiet. We loved swimming, kayaking, and paddle boarding in the bay! Having air conditioning in the dome was wonderful and the kitchen is stocked with just the right amount of tools needed for a few light lunches and a bbq dinner. Danny and Lorna are great hosts, stopping to chat and to give recommendations for places to visit while on the island. Don't hesitate to stay here if you are looking for a restful and relaxing vacation spot!”

“I came here many times as a child and loved it. I have to say that since they expanded and added more cabins this will be my last time here. I have wonderful memories here but there's way too many people now. Staff was really nice to us and the view is world class”

“Lovely location right by the lake as well as close proximity to the beach which you can walk to but most people drive, very clean facilities, showers take quarters and each dollar then gives you 7 minutes of use, there is a laundry room too which we didn’t check out, some top-up grocery items should you need them along with DVDs, books and games that you can borrow as well as decent WiFi. Host was friendly enough but rushed through all the details very fast as if to get it out of the way and the ‘working day’ over and done with. No fire pit on site but we were advised we could ask for one if we wanted one. Probably not somewhere we would stay again but it is is a great site to break up a long journey.”

“We stayed two days at this campground and absolutely loved it! From the friendly accommodating owners to absolutely gorgeous views, you don’t want to miss this place. We stopped there our way to the Cabot trail and loved it so much that we went there again on our way back :) Loved that you can rent kayaks, paddle board and paddle boat. It’s a nice extra. The place was also very clean and well maintained. Highly recommend and we will be back for sure!”

“We had a great experience here. We are on a 3-week tour so we booked in February and the admin service was very prompt and easy to book. We booked cabin K7, which is definitely the primo spot of the whole place with amazing views. The campground is very well kept. The cabin is a bit shabby but it’s a dry roof. I’m glad that we had sheets to cover the mattress even though we slept in sleeping bags.”

“The location is beautiful, the pool is fun, the walks are relaxing, the memories are cherished. The owners/staff are so friendly, welcoming and accommodating. “Positives. Clean, sunset was amazing. Improvement: paying for a hot shower ? Management not overly friendly. Sites are close to each other however only 6 campers here while we stayed. Price: 125.95 nightly (which is why I questioned having to pay for a shower) and probably why campground was basically empty. Close to amenities and the beautiful Annapolis Royal.”

We loved every single minute of our stay and can’t wait to go back! It’s left us feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and recharged! “Kids loved the heated pool! Lots of crabs at the beach but don’t bother catching them as there are signs warning of the legality of it. Bathrooms are ok, shower is ok. Services are good. We’re just in a tent trailer but it’s all good! Not much in the area in terms of restaurants or other services.”

“During our two-week road trip we stayed in at least eight different accommodations including four-star hotels and so-called historic B&Bs. But this motel was the absolute highlight of our trip...and at such incredibly amazing value. Our room was spacious, clean and with all the amenities one could possibly wish for - far better than the pretentious B&B we had stayed the night before where we paid twice the price. To our surprise a really generous breakfast was also included. Everything was fresh and delicious. But above all it was the kindness, friendliness and care of the staff, especially Wayne, that made our stay incredibly memorable. He is a real gem...like a friend one has had for many years! I already can't wait to go and see him again. Thank you Wayne for everything. I highly recommend this amazing establishment.”

“Location is excellent! Customer service was great! My rating reflects the experience as campers in a TENT. It is obvious this campground is for trailers. The washroom was run down, the toilets seemed to be leaking as the floors were always wet. (We discovered a much newer and cleaner washroom facility on site mid stay!) The tent sites were very open, no shade and no trees. They do not have fire pits at the sites, we went without the first night as we weren’t told we had to request a fire pit. We were provided one the second night. The tent sites were under a bright street light which they did turn off for us the second night (thankfully, after one night awake) and so close to the washrooms we could hear the toilets flushing. That said, they did quickly respond to our concerns and did check up on us! The pools were great! Really appreciated the supervision to keep behaviours in check. The price is high at $60/night in a tent.”

“The view was great and the beach wasn't busy when my niece and I camped there. Nice to have the beach a few steps a way and Sandy Bottom Lake is a great lake. When we were there their well had a boil order in place. When I took a shower and it smelled like bleach, it made me very itchy so stopped showering and just went swimming. The bathrooms need a reno and they only have one shower. They have two outhouses, one for men and one for women and the bathhouse with men's and women's lockers rooms. I didn't go into the men's locker room, but the women's has one larger bathroom (handicapped one) with a chair and a sink. The other is a water closet without a sink. There are two sinks in the locker area and a long bench. There is one shower. Getting it working was confusing at first because I originally thought the slots to pay was perhaps left over from a washer. The price is 25 seconds for 5 minutes. We ended up calling showers our $1 showers because we took 10 minute showers. The canteen was out of a lot of things because it was the end of the season, but they had good nachos and things like ice cream, frozen yogurt and popsicles. They had hot dogs too. They were put of ice but very kindly ordered some. The beach is small but is nice. There is a volley ball net and canoes, kayaks, and peddle boats that can be rented for a cheap price. They do not rent them out anymore after 5 pm. We had a great time in the kayaks but our favorite thing to do was swimming. There is a life guard on duty sometimes and a shallow end roped off. There isn't a lot to do there so it is good that is something we love to do. It is a good base to go to other places though. The campgrounds were clean, but keep in mind that the ground is soft and it can get windy so bring extra stakes if you are tenting. There are fire pits available and firewood is available at the canteen. The campsites are a great price and there are serviced sites (electricity and water) for only $27 and they have 2 bedroom cottages Jr. cottages available too. Another nice thing about Raven Haven is that free wifi is available so we could watch netflix at night. The staff were friendly too. While there were some negative things at Raven Haven, we had a great time. I would recommend this place.”

“Jimmy was absolutely wonderful! I was welcomed by everyone at Rivers Edge it’s a lovely community. Since it was going to rain overnight Jimmy let me stay in the big tent right on the water so my tent wouldn’t be wet in the morning. I had a lovely stay and would recommend camping here if you’re passing through!”

“Great campground if you're on the lake sites. Spotless washrooms and showers. Great staff , very friendly. We were in the "field " , our view was a derelict 5 th wheel a " seasonal "with 2 dogs locked in on a very very hot day. We watched them try to scratch their way out of a window , then just sit and watch us for 3 hrs. We then spoke to the hostess who was very good and managed to get the owner up . He arrived and took one dog and left the other. Really really difficult to watch.”

“Super campground. Many private rv spots through the woods. In the open area we had a spot overlooking the lake/pond. Sufficient space between rvs we were not cramped like in other places we have been. Excellent heated saltwater pool and stuff for kids. Both Susan and Rudy were very pleasant and went out of their way to be helpful…….certainly above required expectations (Rudy ordered us lobster from a local fisherman and lent us the equipment to cook them.) Highly recommend this campground. We will be back.”
