“Absolutely loved everything about this hotel!! Location was fantastic (right on the water), staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Our first night there was a slight problem with water pressure but a big bus load of people on tour were staying the night as well and I think when we had a shower, everyone else was showering too. Besides that the balcony was wonderful, beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was clean with a nice size tub. There was a good size fridge too which was nice for drinks and snacks + the tv was big and there were enough channels to enjoy some good relaxation. We loved how close the hotel was to everything too and honestly we walked everywhere without using the car once! Would definitely stay here again!”

“The owners are the nicest guys. Their employees are so helpful with more information about the park than many parks workers. Also, you’ll find some of the best souvenirs in the whole park at Pat’s. They don’t even charge a park premium for food and other items that lots of other stores in the park tack on. The bike rentals are fantastic and they are so helpful. All around probably the best business in Waterton. Plus the kids love to ride their horse Thunder when we visit. All the joy of visiting Waterton starts and ends at Pats.”

“We checked in at 4pm. Don't know why we had to wait one hour for the room to finish cleaned up. Short staff? It's end of Sep. Room is nice and roomy. Room is equipped with microwave and small refrigerator and coffee maker with plenty of toiletries. Nothing to complain about. Great views and close to the restaurant and boat dock.”

“The Bertha Trailhead provides a great starting point to Bertha Falls and Lake. Kind of busy, but a major hiking road and Crypt Lake was closed so more people were hiking. The weather was excellent. The hike was moderate with a steady incline after the falls. However people of all ages and sizes were hiking it, and dogs too. Gorgeous views at top. Took. 1.5 hours up, and 1 hour down.”

“Tamarack always provides one of the highlights of our 1-week tours through Waterton-Glacier. Our tour company entrusts their phenomenal guides, including Carey, to guide our clients on the local trails. They never disappoint. “Overall disappointed with our stay. The room was remodelled and nicely decorated, but was missing some key elements. There was not a screen on the sliding door and the room was incredibly hot. We had to leave the sliding door open most of the night. We also couldn’t get the air conditioner to work. Oddly there weren’t blackout blinds on the windows. Our room looked onto a back alley and several parking lots - there was a flood light on another building that kept flashing on and off most of the night. The room was very bright all night. Combined with the heat, we barely slept. The bathroom also needs a deep clean, but the rest of the room was very clean. We provided feedback when we checked out and it wasn’t really acknowledged by the manager. He suggested we stay in a different room next time, which wasn’t really helpful for our current stay. “Just recently finished Kids Kamp with White Eagle Wellness. Loved the large commercial kitchen, space to prepare food, awesome double oven. Facility has cups, bowls, plates, cutlery, wine glasses for large crowd. It needs a knife set and hand or stand mixer for whipping cream etc but very pleased overall with facility and staff including location. Visited by deer eating grass outside @0700 am, breath taking scenery, majestic mountains, beautiful Cameron Falls a nice walk away.”

“Amazing experience! We had such a fantastic time enjoying the views and relaxing on the top deck of the boat. We went in the morning (10:00am) and got to see a bald eagle as we entered through to Montana. Staff were amazing as well and very informative (definitely laughed a lot). There was so much to see and it was just such a beautiful sight to take in. Highly recommend for anyone who has never been to Waterton Park before.”

“Great hostess at historic lodge on edge of Waterton Park town - very convenient to restaurants in town but enough out of town to be very quiet. Room was very small but very charming. Great views from the deck. One of the other guests we met had been coming for 25 years. Not one of the big "national park lodges" - had about 8 rooms so was very cozy. Lovely common living room to sit and relax in.”

“Loved everything about this place! From the initial booking with owner Jimmy to last day at checkout, the service was absolutely top notch by all the staff. Location is unbeatable right in the heart of Waterton. There were no kitchenette rooms left when I booked but we were set up beautifully with a microwave, hot plate, a box of kitchen supplies, and there are fridges in every room so we were left wanting for nothing. Couple of BBQ's available for use which we enjoyed two nights of our stay and fresh coffee, tea and hot chocolate available from morning till night. Rooms are basic and dated but very clean and comfortable. Highly recommend this gem to anyone looking for a place to stay in beautiful Waterton. Thanks Jimmy, Ashley and all the staff for making our stay so wonderful!”

“little late on my review, but we rented paddle boards back in June, the guy there was so helpful and informative. we didnt know what to expect so we hadn't changed into our waterwear and he allowed us to change in a curtained area, and offered to keep our valuable with him in the shop while we were on the lake. it was a great experience for me and my friends. thank you!”

“Had a wonderful anniversary dinner in the restaurant. The dining room is cozy with a fireplace and views of the lake. Food was very good, I would absolutely recommend the brussel sprouts. I had the 80z striploin steak and my wife had the salmon. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Thanks so much for a lovely dinner to celebrate 18 years with my beautiful wife! We also stayed the night in the hotel, very nice room, bed was comfortable. Room was clean and cozy. Nice vaulted ceilings in the deluxe king room on the second floor. The hotel is smaller which is great as it was very quiet. Great views of the lake on one side and the mountains from the other I would recommend reservations to the restaurant, it was the off season when we came so the dining room wasn't very busy, but I am sure it can get very busy during the regular season.”

“My experience at Alpine Stables in Waterton Park on the 1-hour ride tour was nothing short of magical! From start to finish, this journey was a harmonious blend of natural beauty, expert guidance, and pure exhilaration for the entire family. But what truly elevated the experience was witnessing the beautiful landscape and mountain views. My girls loved it! This was their very first time riding a horse, and they were led by none other than the owner's daughter and the owner himself. Their patience and enthusiasm made the girls feel at ease, and they couldn't stop talking about it long after the ride was over. I had the privilege of riding Major, a magnificent horse who seemed to understand my every command. It was a testament to the exceptional training and care that the horses at Alpine Stables receive. “This is a well-maintained and groomed course with some challenges and amazing views throughout the course, so if your round doesn't go well, you'll enjoy the experience regardless. After a mid-morning round we had lunch at Stanley's BBQ Grill House where the food was good (my wings were great!) and the service fast and friendly. “An awesome hike. The trailhead has good number of parking spots on side of road. Most of path is good easy conditions with just a few places need to step over small streams and rocks. Is a gradual continuous slope up all the way to the base of the mountain side. Trail stops before base of waterfall, but falls is reachable if willing to scramble over scree and are not scared of heights (drops).”

“A must! This is a magnificent national park full of amazing pockets of beauty. We went during the last half of September and seeing the park in autumn was simply jaw dropping. The changing colours of the leaves against a backdrop of rugged mountains, calm lakes and blue skies was like walking into a postcard. At this time, early Fall, there weren’t many tourists which gave us a more comfortable and relaxing stay. We spent a week here, making it our home-base while exploring other parts of Alberta. 2 days or overnight would also be good if you can’t stay any longer. A day trip to Waterton Lakes National Park would be too short a visit. This place has so much to offer. There are many hiking trails around from easy short ones to the more challenging trails, one can select whichever is preferred. There are many coffee shops and restaurants as well in the area, which makes taking a break or having a good solid meal ideal after a hike.”

Lots of wildlife in the area. We spotted few black bears in the area but they never came too close. Reservations are highly recommended here!”
