“The food was excellent and the wine menu was top notch, with more French wines than the average restaurant, which I appreciated. The service was good but a tad slow as they seemed a bit understaffed though I’m sure that was likely a specific issue the night we were there. We showed up without a reservation and they accommodated us. The clientele was on the older side so it might be easier to get a table a bit later ;)”

“I went twice and so far, very satisfied with the quality and the portions. I tried the Wara Deluxe Tray and would definitely recommend their Chirashu Donburi. Will come back if I am ever in the area.”

“Considering you are in Comox this place is great. The sushi rolls, bibimbap and katsu were all beyond my expectations. The service was very polite and attentive. If you are feeling the need for Korean/Japanese food this place will not disappoint you.”

“6/20/23- pros and cons Warning: DO NOT ORDER THE VEGETARIAN ENCHILADAS. They don't know how to cook enchiladas. The tortillas had too much dough . The ingredients were tiny. Practical nothing. It was severed dry, no sauce or anything. Server said they were new to the menu. You've been warned! While the views are great and the service is very good (except for the front house manager at the hostess stand with brown hair, Barbara she's extremely rude). The blonde hair hostess is very nice and considerate. The halibut is huge and severed well. I've enclosed photos of both, but unfortunately I ate it before taking photos, and left what you see because there was really nothing left to eat or see. The halibut had 2 pieces. I might come back again, but please don't order anything that might be a foreign dish. It's terrible!!!!”

“We are from out of town and friends took us here to try the fish and chips. I have to say, I wish my stomach was bigger so I could eat more!!! It's so good! I tried the cod and everything comes out piping hot. The batter is light and crispy and the fish was perfectly cooked. The fries were good and the side of gravy comes in a big container. I wish we had this at home!”

“Perfect place to bring small children. It includes a beautiful children's garden with a sandbox and other activites, a fairy house hunt that takes you around the whole garden, bee hives and lots to see and smell. Very peaceful for the adults and engaging for the kids. The volunteers are so friendly and every visit has been so special.”

“The best restaurant in the Comox Valley! Every par of this experience was 5 ⭐️. The server was knowledgeable, passionate and courteous. The setting was second to none. And every part of the meal was incredible down to the edible flowers. The flavour combinations were incredible, the ingredients all of the highest quality. Our favorite meal in recent memory.”

“Don't be fooled. Tim's is gone. Now it's only the Canex cashiers making coffee that you self-serve. If I'm pouring my own coffee, why does it not come at a discount? My service was great though; I gave myself a tip.”

“All and all, beautiful place. Dinner was amazing and so was breakfast, the beds are super hard and the rooms are no different than a 3 star hotel. Our service guide for the hydro path was next to none. Didn't smile or even feel welcomed. Just shoed us through. And hot tub, pool and steam room need to be cleaned.”

“A bougie restaurant to take a date or guest out for lunch or dinner. The atmosphere is one of the best in the Valley and service is always excellent here. The food and menu fell a bit short but is good enough. I ordered the 6oz steak ($30) and found it very salty and the portion size quite small. It could use a bit more vegetables and potatoes to justify the cost. Definitely need an appetizer or two with it. My guest ordered the avocado toast ($21) but they didn't have the correct bread today and two different types of egg benedict ($24/$27). They enjoyed the meal. The menu could use seasonal specials added as it's the same menu for a while now. The strongest positive is the atmosphere, settings and decor of the restaurant with views of the waters. The service is always excellent, no problem with the service here. I'd recommend this place for special occasions.”

“Great sandwich and drinks. Stopped in twice on our last visit to Denman. Highly recommend dropping in and having lunch. Some fresh baked goods are available my son loved the banana bread. They also have ice cream ! Store has a good selection of books and even some Denman t-shirts. Enjoy the back yard seating in the shade or the sunny seating out front. A must stop spot on the island.”

“Such a fabulous gem on a quiet island. The food is lovingly raised, grown, cooked and served in a warm, friendly, quiet outdoor venue on a beautiful farm. Our lunch had an absolutely delicious flavour from a unique blend of spices clearly perfected over time. Incredible mountain views and the ambiance of classic music playing quietly in the background make this a must see spot worthy of going out of the way to an otherwise obscure little island. Highly recommend.”

“The place is close to the ferry and close to a really nice hostel. It’s really crowded and a lot of people are taking their food to take away so we had to wait over 30 minutes for our poutine. I was not not a big fan of it but it might be just my personal taste. The place is ok. The service is nice. The prices are high but fair. It’s a classic take a way food shop.”

“Wonderful, if somewhat ramshackle hostel. Amazing value for money. Great cafe for breakfast and lunch. Nice property. sleeping in comfy shacks, trailers, towers. Little rooms in a big garden/yard. Shared washrooms inside the main house where there's a shared kitchen. Walking distance to the VI ferry. Shared washrooms. would absolutely an enthusiastically visit again.”

“We had our daughter's wedding at the Glacier Greens Golf course. Food catered by Red's. Location is quiet. Scenery beautiful. Food tasted great. We were able to get dietary options for our wedding guests with allergies. Drinks were a great price. Friendly staff. Venue layout is nice. We were able to use the golf carts for the wedding party and parents while we were getting photos done by the photographer. Which was a lot of fun. Unfortunately the toilet flooded into foyer. There were golfers thinking it was okay to sit in the setup wedding area to have drinks and were not asked to leave. Even when guests were arriving they just sat there - so classy. We were told the venue was closed for our wedding. Food was served without notice. Appies were put in the dining area when no one was there. If we had known a bit ahead of time we could have announced it to our guests. By the time guests arrived the appies were cold. Dinner was put out when the bride and groom were still out having their photos done by their photographer. Again if we were told that dinner was coming out soon. We would have informed the kitchen that the bride and groom were delayed and why. Also not enough wine glasses for all the guests. We could have rented enough if we had known. Overall our daughter's wedding was wonderful. Just some bumps along the way. So more flexibility and communication would have helped.”

“We ordered takeout from Ford's Cove Restaurant last weekend. The food was delicious, the batter was very good, fish was fresh, and portion sizes were very reasonable as well. We went off to eat outside on the rocks before realizing our fried pickles did not make it into our bag! We assumed we'd swing by to get them on our way out, but their employee Shannon went above and beyond and brought the fried pickles out to us way out on the rocks a short while later! Excellent service on her part, and it MADE our anniversary lunch! I would highly recommend this spot for anyone coming to Ford's cove and Hornby Island.”

“Worth the wait! The breakfast bowl is incredible! Try to get there a few min before they open as it gets busy and the food does take a while to come out. But everything is fresh and delicious and great portions . A must try at ringside market”

“Amazing! Showed up on a rainy and John was making himself some pizzas to take home and said that it’d be 35-40 minutes until another pizza will be done since everything is from scratch. He was kind enough to offer us one of the pizzas he was going to take home so we could make our 5 o’clock ferry! So nice. John asked us for our names and we’ll be sure to stop by next time we visit!! The oh hell yea is the go to :)”
